WAYFINDING WEDNESDAY
When it comes to big projects, it's always the little things that get overlooked. However, it's the little things that end up making the entire project come to fruition.
Before it ever comes time to dig holes a community comes together and fills out surveys with ideas of how they see themselves, then designers create the town brand and design sign ideas, a downtown Master Plan identifies maps of where signs should be placed, a sign maker interprets all of those ideas and comes up with sign proofs, the MT Highway Department is consulted... So many hands, people, decisions, touch every part of the project.
After months and months, years even, the day comes when a phone call happens that says "Go ahead and dig the holes" and everyone stops and looks around. Who is going to dig all these holes???
That's when you breathe a huge sigh of relief because you live in a small town.
The first time the Zetterberg Family from Zetterberg Construction showed up and dug every single hole and then turned around and donated their time to the efforts. April Zetterberg
The second set of signs we put the call out for help and Craig and Shelly Adams Weight showed up, dug the holes and donated their time.
But then we hit a snag, one of the holes landed right in the path of the city water line. After a couple phone calls with the City of Forsyth Water Department, they literally sped right over, checked out the lay of the land, and they dug the hole for us so there were no complications.
Only in a small town would things happen that fast. Only in a small town would folks stop what they were doing, grab some shovels and pitch in with manual labor when the weather was holding and the sign guy could make it to your town and then not charge you a dime.
Why? Because they care about your community as much as you do. Because small towns deserve nice things. Because we have pride in our small town and all of us want to see our small town thrive.
A huge thank you to the Zetterbergs, the Weights and the City of Forsyth!! We greatly appreciate your help, your skills and your love of Forsyth.
So much more to come.... We can't wait!
