BMS and CCHS had a good final day in the woods for region forestry. 16 schools competed in the junior level and 7 in the senior level. From Bethune, Wyatt Wehr was 3rd overall in timber stand improvement, Grace Jones and Karmen Webb were 2nd overall in Forest Management and Khaden Milton was 1st overall in Cord Volume!

Grace Jones competed in Prepared Public Speaking Monday at UGA with her speech titled “The Power of Pine: How Sustainable Forestry Benefits People and the Planet” she was 3rd in her room and had one of the highest scoring manuscripts of everyone. Public speaking in any fashion is tough, but Grace took the challenge head on and did very well!

We’re back from Thanksgiving break and jumped right into the fun and learning. At school we harvested some of our fall garden, and last night our FFA officers kicked off the Christmas spirit with good food, great fellowship, and a few festive gifts! Proud of our chapter and excited for everything this season has in store.
-Vet visit today for show hogs
-Forestry practice starts Wednesday
-Wildlife and FFA Creed contest Thursday
-Hosting jackpot hog show Saturday
