Project Linus Dallas Denton Counties Texas We are a group of volunteers in Dallas and Denton Counties. We accomplish this through the gift of a handmade blanket.

Our mission is to provide love, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized or in extreme need.

Right now our shelves are overflowing with flowers, unicorns, princesses, and all things pink and while we LOVE those quilts, we want to make sure every child can find something that feels special to them.

We would especially love quilts with:
🦖 Dinosaurs
🚗 Cars & trucks
🦸 Superheroes
🐾 Animals
🌈 Neutral or colorful prints
⚽ Sports, space, gaming, camping, or fun geometric designs

And of course, we know some boys love flowers and some girls love monster trucks and we absolutely celebrate that! ❤️ every child deserves a quilt that reflects their unique personality, interests and comfort.

Child-size quilts are approximately 45” x 60” (no need to be exact!).

Thank you for helping us wrap every child in comfort, security, and love.

🧵 Covered in Moxie! is here! 🎉

The newest pattern in our Scrappy Sewing with Patty fundraiser, Covered in Moxie! is the 6th pattern released so far — with 9 patterns planned, and possibly even 10! ✨

Covered in Moxie! is a string quilt pattern featuring 4 different layout examples. A string quilt is made using long, narrow strips of fabric sewn together to create beautiful scrappy designs. It’s a wonderful way to use leftover fabric pieces and every quilt turns out uniquely creative and full of personality! 💕

For a $20 donation, you’ll receive ALL of the fundraiser patterns while supporting Project Linus and helping provide handmade blankets to children in need. 💙

You can sign up at www.projectlinus.org. Please designate Dallas Denton County Chapter and Maria Simpson as the coordinator.

Thank you for sewing with purpose and supporting our mission! 🧵✨

Today we had the sweetest friend stop by with some of the most beautiful crocheted blankets for the children we serve. 💕

Everyone was absolutely in awe of them — each blanket so unique and thoughtfully made. The color choices, the stitch patterns, the attention to detail… truly perfection. You could feel the love stitched into every single one.

These blankets are so much more than yarn. They are comfort, security, warmth, and a reminder to a child that someone cares. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent and heart with us! 🧶✨

A huge THANK YOU to National Charity League, Inc. Lantana Chapter for their incredible support of Project Linus Dallas/Denton! 💙🧵

In 2025, these amazing mothers and daughters created 120 handmade blankets for children in Dallas and Denton Counties. Each blanket is more than fabric — it is comfort, security, hope, and a reminder to a child that they are cared for and not alone.

We are so grateful for your kindness, generosity, and dedication to serving children in our community.

Thank you for helping us wrap children in love, one blanket at a time. 💕

We’ve talked about our favorite precut scrap sizes, and now we want to highlight some of the fun, free patterns we use to turn those 2½" strips and 2½" x 6½" pieces into scrappy baby quilts!

Some of our go-to favorites come from Fat Quarter Shop, including Jelly Roll Jam, Jelly Roll Jam 2, Jelly Roll Sizzle, and Jelly Roll Slice. We also love the Strip and Flip Baby Quilt for a quick, scrappy finish.

These patterns are easy to follow, great for all skill levels, and perfect for turning leftover strips into something beautiful, useful, and full of color. Every quilt ends up unique—and that’s part of the joy 💕
