OIS VETERANS, HERE’S A TRAVEL TIP WORTH SAVING AND SHARING!
If you’re a veteran, active-duty service member, or military family member, there are TSA programs and airport procedures specifically designed to assist the military community. Because airport participation and procedures can change, Operation Injured Soldiers recommends checking directly with TSA before your next trip rather than assuming the same benefit is available at every airport.
TSA has information about military lanes at participating airports, acceptable identification, TSA PreCheck eligibility, and TSA Cares for travelers who may need additional assistance during the screening process.
One important reminder: Military lane access and TSA PreCheck are not the same thing. Veteran status alone does not automatically provide TSA PreCheck, so make sure you understand which benefit applies to you before traveling.
For veterans who may need additional help getting through security, TSA Cares is another great resource. TSA recommends contacting them at least 72 hours before travel when possible.
