Think Malawi

Think Malawi We work hand in hand with Malawians to improve access to quality education, allowing them to fulfil their ambitions and improve their quality of life.

We are delighted to share encouraging progress from the two schools supported by the GREVEO Project.

So far:

✅ 100 reusable sanitary pads have been produced and distributed—50 to each school
✅ Mother groups have been trained to produce the pads
✅ Construction of changing rooms has reached roof level at both schools
✅ School leaders, parent-teacher associations and community members have received training
✅ Conversations about menstrual health are becoming more open and positive

The next steps include completing the changing-room roofs, continuing to build local pad-production capacity and working towards reaching 500 beneficiaries.

Thank you to GREVEO, the participating schools and the community members whose commitment is making this progress possible.

Together, we are helping to create school environments in which girls can manage their periods safely, confidently and with dignity.

The 🇲🇼 Scorchers’ rise at is more than a sporting achievement, it is a powerful statement of belief, resilience and possibility.

They are showing girls across Malawi that their dreams are valid, their strength matters and their futures are wide open.

At Think Malawi , we share that belief. Through education projects and our Her Education Matters programme, we help girls access opportunities and remain in school.

Congratulations, Malawi Scorchers. You are inspiring a generation and making your nation proud.

The UK Government has announced plans to reduce its official development assistance to Malawi from:

£50.2 million in 2025–26
£20 million in 2026–27
£10 million in 2027–28
£5 million in 2028–29 – a planned 90% reduction over three years.

Behind these figures are real people. Children striving for an education. Families working to build better futures. Communities that continue to face significant challenges.

At Think Malawi, we know that sustainable change takes time. It is built through long-term partnerships, trust and communities leading their own development. Those needs do not disappear because budgets change.

Today, our thoughts are with our partners, the communities we work alongside, and everyone across Malawi who may be affected by these decisions.

Here at Think Malawi our commitment remains unchanged. We will continue standing with Malawi, working alongside communities, and doing everything we can to support lasting, locally led development.

Now, more than ever, Malawi needs friends who will stand with it.

Why we love Malawi 🇲🇼✨

Beyond our work at Think Malawi, there is a country that simply captures your soul. Known as the “Warm Heart of Africa,” Malawi is a land of raw, unspoiled beauty and incredible spirit.

From the crystal-clear waters of Lake Malawi (which feels more like a golden-sand ocean than a lake 🌊) to the dramatic, mist-shrouded peaks of Mount Mulanje ⛰️, the landscapes are breathtaking.

But the true magic lies in its people. The genuine warmth, kindness, and vibrant community spirit you find here is unlike anywhere else on Earth.

It’s a beautiful country with an even more beautiful heart. ❤️
