We've counted the donations for Warm Up Flint 2026 received so far! The total number of pieces is a surprise that we announce at the end of the year.
But we can tell you that we have filled NINETEEN (19!) plastic bins and two giant storage bags with handmade hats and scarves after our Summer Count. The bins are stacked higher than our Yarn Brigade Coordinator, Hayley!
Thank you SO MUCH to the 40 knitters and crocheters who have donated items thus far, 16 of whom are participating for the first time this year! They are Angie, Brenda, Cathy, Cindy, Connie B, Connie H, Crystal DP, Debbie G, Debbie M, Denise, Devera, Elisa, Flo, Geneyce, Gail, Giuliana, Gloria, Hayley, Jenna, Jessica, Kathy I, Kathy M, Kristen, Liz, Mary, Marjorie, Melissa, Michelle G, Michelle W, Mumina, Patricia, Rachel, Rebecca, Ruth, Samantha, Susan, Tobi, Tracie and Anonymous (3).
We received donations from people in 14 cities so far: Clio, Davison, Durand, Flint, Flushing, Goodrich, Grand Blanc, Holly, Lansing, Lapeer, Millington, Mundy Twp, Richfield Twp, Sanford and Swartz Creek as well as Chicago, Illinois and Dawsonville, Georgia.
If you would like to donate handmade knitted or crocheted hats and/or scarves to Warm Up Flint, please feel free to bring them to any Flint Handmade event. We also have a donation bin at Creative Cafe in Flint Twp.
