Yesterday, we gave a programmatic update to the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Painter spoke about the recent, current, and future activities for 4-H in Botetourt County.

Additionally, Lori Livick, a rising 5th grader at Colonial Elementary School * Blue Ridge, VA, came and spoke about her experiences in 4-H and some of things she has experienced as a result.

Back in April, Lori was crowned the Botetourt County 4-H Dramatic Reading Champion at our annual County Presentation Contest! From there, she was invited to and participated in the Area Presentation Contest at Floyd County High School, where she placed 2nd overall! Over 300 4th graders in Botetourt County presented dramatic reading projects this year and Lori prevailed as our overall winner.

Lori treated the board members to her winning dramatic reading presentation and it’s safe to say the loved it!

Congratulations and great job to Lori, and all of our 4-H members for their hard work this year!

This is a friendly reminder for our 4th and 5th graders who qualified for the County Presentation Contest, that registration closes today at 5:00 PM. Qualifiers would have received a letter from Tyler Painter, with instructions on how to register.

Please respond to the link/QR code in the letter whether your child plans to attend or not. Students who do not have a response submitted on their behalf will be considered “not attending” after the registration link closes.

If you have any questions, please contact Tyler at [email protected].

Thanks!
