Keith Buxton demonstrates turning a Lantern for the St Louis Woodturners http://facebook.com/wtstl group. Watch him work through the process to mount, turn a 2" square x 4 1/2" block into a glowing lantern using a tea light. He does a great job in explaining the steps required.

Keith is a member of the Show Me Woodturners and he was demonstrating for the St Louis Woodturners http://facebook.com/wtstl group at our monthly meeting.

We had a great meeting this past Thursday and would like to give a HUGE shout out to Ken Bald for agreeing to do a last minute demo on from a log to a bowl. Ken did a great job with this presentation. We had such great items for show-n-tell and even the presidents challenge to which Ken also won. Great time so don’t forget to come next month as the presidents challenge it to make a birdhouse, lantern which will be donated to our Nursing home give away.

Birds Mouth Vase

Watch Barry show how to create a Birds Mouth Vase on the lathe. Barry does a great job demonstrating the process from design, picking your wood, mounting and then turning the piece on the lathe.

The Show-Me Woodturners are an AAW chapter that meets in Festus, MO. Meetings are on the second Thursday of the month from 6:30-9:00 at the Festus Band Building (right behind the police department). Guests are welcome!

Day 2 of 2 in our Epoxy class. John did an outstanding job answering everyone’s questions, showing techniques and skills in removing molds, how to patch bowls, and turning. Great time had by all.

Great time with Day 1 of 2 of Epoxy days. Tomorrow we will de-mold everything, and John will demonstrate some turning.

We had a great time today at our turning day. We had seven guests and most of them participated by turning something. We had folks making bowls, vases, lanters, and bird houses. Great job everyone as it was such a great turn out.
