It’s always rewarding to collaborate with newer providers and share our expertise.

We recently went over the Zoll 731+ ventilator with a junior Respiratory Therapist, discussing its strengths and limitations.

While we serve as educators, staying open to learning keeps us sharp, we picked up several nuances of the 731 ourselves during the session.

Always thankful for these opportunities.

🚁 Training to save lives, together. Duke Life Flight recently hosted its very first multidisciplinary Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) class!
True trauma care doesn’t happen in a vacuum—it’s a continuum that starts at the scene and moves all the way to the intensive care unit. That’s why we brought together an incredible, diverse group of elite providers for this course, including:
• 🩺 CTICU Nurses (Cardiothoracic Intensive Care)
• 🚑 911 Paramedics
• 🚁 Flight Medics
• ⚡ Special Forces Paramedics
By breaking down walls between prehospital and in-hospital care, these providers practiced seamless transitions, advanced trauma skills, and critical decision-making under pressure.
When the worst happens, this is the team you want in your corner. Massive thank you to all the instructors and participants who dedicated their time to sharpening their skills and elevating patient care!

Today marks one year since launching the Operator to Flight Pipeline (O2F-P).

Our mission remains exactly the same: To transition Special Forces and Special Operations medics into civilian critical care roles. O2F is three cohorts in with a fourth starting soon. We are humbled to continue providing free education to the force.

The network we’ve built both online and in person over the last 12 months has been incredible. We are deeply grateful for the community support that has driven this growth, and we remain fully committed to this mission for the long haul.

Here’s to another year of providing the next generation of Flight Medics with the pathway they deserve.
