🥰 Take a trip down memory lane with us!

This photo highlights the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA), a student-led organization at NDSU that shared a mission similar to ours. VSA was truly a pillar in the community, bringing people together and celebrating Vietnamese culture in such a meaningful way.

While VSA is no longer active, we’re honored to carry on that same spirit and continue the work they once led. Our organization is open to everyone—no longer just for students—so anyone in the community is welcome to join us as we keep building, celebrating, and growing together.

The Vietnamese American Association (VAA) would like to gently remind our community (now that we have new followers!) that we are a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to celebrate Vietnamese heritage while fostering a strong, united Vietnamese-American community here in North Dakota.

This Lunar New Year celebration was our first major event of this scale. Every dollar raised goes directly back into future cultural programs, community gatherings, youth initiatives, and events that preserve and share our traditions. No one on our team is paid — every person involved, from planning to performances to day-of operations, is a volunteer giving their time and heart to this community.

We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support and turnout. Your participation helps ensure that Vietnamese culture continues to thrive and be visible for future generations in our region.

🧧 Thank You for an Incredible Lunar New Year Celebration! 🧧

On behalf of the Vietnamese American Association, thank you to everyone who joined us to welcome the Year of the Horse. We were honored to celebrate with over 335 guests, an overwhelming and heartwarming show of support from our community.

In planning this event, we prepared for approximately 250 attendees at most — not including our volunteers and performers. The incredible turnout far exceeded our expectations, which resulted in longer buffet lines than anticipated. We truly appreciate your patience, kindness, and understanding throughout the evening.

We are thankful that we were able to provide a full dinner service, with food available through the end of the buffet. For those who may have needed to leave early or were unable to stay for dinner, please know that your attendance still supports our nonprofit’s mission and helps us continue offering cultural programs, youth initiatives, and community events. Your support means more than words can express.

Despite the large crowd, the night was filled with beautiful performances, cultural pride, laughter, and connection!

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible volunteers , sponsors, performers, the Fargo Air Museum event staff & community partners. Your time, resources, and dedication made this celebration possible, and we are truly thankful for each of you.

We are deeply grateful for your support as we continue to grow, learn, and improve. This experience will help us plan an even stronger and more prepared celebration next year.
