Today some of our scouts placed flags by veterans’ graves for Memorial Day. As we helped our chartered org rep make sure all of the military graves had the flag holders, we stumbled on a solider of the continental army who was born in 1761 and died in 1861, living to 100 years old. This man, who fought for America‘s right to be an independent country as teen or young adult is such a special find by our scouts for America’s 250th Anniversary. Thank you to John Guppy and to all of the other veterans who have served in America’s military since him that were buried in that cemetery. we honor you this Memorial Day. Thank you for your service! 🫡🪦🇺🇸

Thanks to everyone who participated in Scouting for Food this week! Here’s how much was donated to the Fairborn Fish Food Pantry this morning!

We at Pack 182 collected 680 items totaling 544 pounds of donations.

Troop 162 here in Fairborn, collected 794 items totaling 635 pounds of donations.

Troop 72 here in Fairborn collected 975 items totaling 780 pounds of donations.

Troop 71 of Beavercreek collected 433 items totaling 346 pounds of donations. More may have been donated after 1, but we weren’t there past then.

And Finally, Pack 74 of Beavercreek collected 630 items totaling 504 pounds donated.

These Fairborn and Beavercreek scouts collected a known total of 3,512 donations weighing at 2,809 pounds overall. These kids, ranging in age from 1st grade all the way up through seniors and of course, scout leaders, helped the FISH workers to bring in, sort through and restock all of the donated items.

Thank you to everyone who donated both their extra food and their time today!

Our annual Scouting for Food campaign is taking place this year between March 13th and March 20th, meaning scouts are going to be walking around your neighborhoods in uniform (may or may not be visible due to jackets) posting flyers on your doors!

We will be picking up the food (and any unopened toletries you wish to donate) donated on March 21st at 9am (weather permitting, last year it was 10 because of the rain) and taking it up to the Fairborn Fish Food Pantry.

Please make sure that the donations are clearly marked and visible from the road.

If your donation has not been picked up by Noon on March 21st (because sometimes they get missed on accident!), please reach out to us with your address and we will send someone to pick up your donation.

Thank you Fairborn for once again allowing us to help our community in a big way!

Our Lions, Tigers and Wolves would like to say thank you to several people tonight. We would like to thank everyone who donated to our community giveaway tonight and our food drive last night. Thanks to your kindness and generousity we were able to donate another 3 carts full of food and some toletries to the Fairborn FISH pantry! So far this year we have donated 5 grocery carts full so thank you!

We would also like to say thank you to the scouts and parents who showed up tonight and helped out with the distribution. It was such a success that several have said we should do it again next year!

And finally, we wanted to say thank you to the families who came out and let us help you make your holiday season a little bit more magical. Thanks for trusting us to be there for you. We were left with just a few clothes and kids shoes, which will be donated to another organization to pass along as well! You brought a smile to our faces, a happy tear to our eyes and warmth in our hearts this holiday season and we are happy to do it for you again!

Giving out donated items to those in need!

Hi all, there’s just a few more days to help our collection drive for people in need! If this is you, please read to the end of the post.

If you have any of the following items you want to get rid of, please send us an email us at [email protected] or text (937) 524-1940 with your address to have us pick up your donation before December 17, 2025.

We are collecting and distributing the following items (if we have any to give out):

-Unopened non-perishable food (including pet food), household cleaners, and toiletries to be donated to the Fairborn FISH Food Pantry.

-clothes and shoes in kids and adult sizes.

-toys and games

-books

-baby items

If you are needing a little bit of help with these items this year, please go to Abiding Christ Lutheran Church located at 326 E Dayton Yellow Springs Rd between 5 and 8pm on December 19, 2025. Please enter through the front left hand side of the building go all the way down the hall and turn right, we have the items on display in the large Youth Room in the back right corner. Everything is going to be FREE to whoever needs it and will be on a first come first serve basis, but we don’t want to keep anything.

From the Parents, Scouts and Leaders of Pack 182, we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season this year! No matter which holiday or religion you celebrate this month, we ask YOUR God to give you many blessings for protection, good health, financial stability, lifelong friendship, a loving family, food security and a warm bed to rest your head going into the New Year.

It’s Giving Tuesday and many of our scouts are doing collection drives this week for the families of Fairborn!

One den is teamed up with Town and Country Animal Clinic to collect pet food!

Other dens are collecting unopened food, household cleaners and toiletries for the FISH food pantry as well as new or gently used and CLEAN clothes and shoes in all sizes, toys/games, books, and baby items.

Interested in helping out?

Pet food can be donated at Town and Country Animal Clinic.

Everything else can be donated at a collection bin at the Fairborn Senior Center or Abiding Christ Lutheran Church or you can email [email protected] with your name, address and items being dropped off to schedule a pickup no later than December 10th.
