🚒❤️ Fire Prevention Week at Story Time! ❤️🚒

The Story Time crew got a pretty exciting ride in Little Red on Monday! Let’s just say, books and crafts are great, but riding in a fire truck definitely takes story time up a notch! 😂

A BIG thank you to firefighters Steve Hocamp and Mike Bintner for taking time out of their day to give our kiddos a ride and make Fire Prevention Week extra special!

And thank you to Ava and Sophie for helping teach our little firefighters some important fire safety skills, including the ever-important:

🔥 STOP!
🔥 DROP!
🔥 AND ROLL!

Which, naturally, resulted in a bunch of little kids rolling around on the library floor. 😂 If anyone happened to walk by and think we had completely lost control of Story Time… we promise there was a lesson happening! 😂🔥

We may have had a few future firefighters in the group! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒❤️

🏁 Yesterday’s Pinewood Derby is officially in the books!

We had 19 racers show up ready for speed, and hopefully all four wheels staying attached. 😂🏎️💨

We learned a LOT, including a few things we’ll definitely do differently next time. That’s what the first run is for, right?!

Thanks to everyone who came out, raced, helped, and rolled with us as we figured things out. It was a great turnout, a lot of fun, and we’re already plotting improvements for the next one!

🏁 PINEWOOD DERBY TIME CHANGE! 🏁

Due to the rain, several Fall Festival events are being pushed back a bit, so we’re adjusting the Pinewood Derby schedule too!

🕧 Registration: 12:30 PM
🏎️ Racing begins: 1:00 PM

We want all of our kiddos and families to have plenty of time to enjoy all the fun happening at the Fall Festival without having to miss out! 🍂🎃

Please help us spread the word about the new times. We can’t wait to see everyone and watch those cars fly down the track! 🏁

And YES, we want more people to join us! 😂 If you’ve ever thought, “I should join a book club,” this is your sign. No need to be a literary scholar, just come hang out, meet some fun people, and enjoy the snacks.
