I’m Bithja Gebrulien—storyteller, space-holder, and the Flamebearer behind The MelaDen. I created this space with a simple but powerful vision: a sanctuary where Black folks can gather in pleasure, power, and protection. As a q***r Black woman, a mother, and a community-rooted creative, I know how rare and sacred it is to feel fully seen and safe—especially in spaces meant for our healing, our joy

, and our liberation. The MelaDen was born from that knowing. This is more than a group. It’s a living, breathing ecosystem for those of us who are tired of shrinking, surviving, or going without softness. I’m building this for us—one intention, one gathering, one liberated breath at a time.

The Commons Open Town Hall — Round 2 💬

Today’s Town Hall was… quiet. And that’s okay.

The Commons is meant to be an open floor—a space for questions, ideas, and community input. But until folks start showing up live and jumping into the conversation, I’m shifting things a bit.

Moving forward, I’ll be using this time to walk through frequently asked questions and break down what we’re building—so whether you join live or catch the replay, you’re still getting something valuable out of the space. No more just sitting in silence… we’re going to make the time count.
