WHAT KIND OF HEADACHE IS IT?
- dull and all over head
- can feel like a "tight-band"
- pain can be severe
- up to 90% of all headaches

TENSION HEADACHES

These headaches are also called muscle contraction headaches. They are usually due to poor posture, daily stress or times of anger or anxiety. It can involve the muscles of the head, neck and back, and is often caused by prolonged contraction of these muscles.

Learning to recognize the cycle of pain:

Hurts – painful life experiences (loss, abuse, rejection, trauma) that leave deep emotional wounds.

Hang-ups – thoughts and attitudes formed to cope with that pain (fear, anger, shame, resentment, control).

Habits – unhealthy behaviors used for relief that can eventually take over (addictions, compulsions, destructive patterns).

What starts as pain can become patterns—but healing begins with honesty about all three.

MEN - ARE YOU UP TO DATE ON YOUR SCREENINGS?

For adult men (18-39):

- blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and testicular self-exam checks are important at this age.

- Vaccines: influenza, COVID-19, Hepatitis A/B, HPV, Tdap and MMR should be considered.

- STI screening: HIV, Hepatitis B/C, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia

- Risky behaviors: discuss any use of to***co, alcohol, recreational drugs, anabolic steroids, as well as use of seatbelts and helmets and gun safety.

For adult men over 40:
- Same as above plus cancer screening (prostate/colon/lung)
- Shingles vaccine
