Its Saturday August 22, 2026 and Assistant Director Jeff Exum and myself assisted in the unloading and staging of good for The Keepers weekly giveaway. Located at the Enoch Pratt Library at the intersection of Loch Raven and Cold Spring Lane they are providing for those in need. It starts at 10am today and every Saturday.

The day finally arrived quietly, The first official H2H Free Community Market. At 7:20pm one person was already sitting on the bench as we began setup. We were ready and the door was open at 9am, though again Assistant Director Jeff Exum whose new title may be “Senior Ambassador”, (Kennedi is our Youth Ambassador) continued to bring in donations. Thanks to R & J House of Harvest for the donation of recyclable bags.

It should be mentioned, that thought H2H had the lead on Maryland Ave, our collaboration with VLF had some other H2H members at Deep Creek Middle School. Again Jeff delivered donations there and by the end of both scheduled times we were empty. We would like to thank all the members and volunteers for H2H and VLF, we could not have done simulations events without you.

And a special thank you to Andre Reed who provided “after party” meals for us afterward. One down, many to go.

So today, August 14, 2026 was our first official pickup from First Fruits Farm. The pickup was quick and professional. After a short prayer by Assistant Director Jeff Exum, between members of First Fruits and ourselves it was back on the road to Essex. What you see are the “fruits of our labor”, pun intended.

Tomorrow, August 15, 2026 at 9am will be the first official H2H Free Community Market. Please come through, pickup free product and be blessed. This is the first of many markets to come, but don’t miss out. We are scheduled for the third Saturday of each month. But subscribe and watch our social media feeds, the blessings don’t always follow a schedule.

This is a reminder that The Have a Heart 2 Help Free Community Market is now ten (10) days away on Saturday, August 15, 2026. We are working hard behind the scenes to be a blessing to our community, and that means you.

H2H is still inviting likeminded individuals, non-profits, churches and other charitable organizations to join us. Again there is no fee, with the only stipulations being that all items will be freely given.

For the time being we are asking if you can please bring your own table. This may change in the future, but for now we are asking this. Your company or organization can bring literature related to you.

We can't do this without you. Please be a blessing and share this on your own platforms.

The Have a Heart 2 Help Free Community Market is now operational. We have scheduled the 3rd Saturday of each month to be a blessing to the Essex, Middle River and Dundalk areas.

H2H is inviting like minded individuals , non-profits, churches and other charitable organizations to join us. There is no fee. The only stipulations are that all items will be freely given. If you can,please bring your own table. You can also bring literature related to your own organization. If you are interested or would like more information, email [email protected] or message us. Someone will get back to you in a timely manner.

The day started off with thunderstorms. But though cloudy, the rain stopped and we were able to kick off the newly christened Just One Saturday Community Free Market. Things were slow at first and I chalked it up as a trial run. But thanks to a couple of phone calls, going live on Facebook and posts to social media, attendance picked up right up to the 12pm (noon) stop time.

H2H would like to thank our spokespersons, Dina Reed-Coleman and Saresa Pleasant. Also Twyna Scott, Megan Exum, our volunteers, Panetta Spencer, Vivian Smith and Chainte Brown.

Assistance Director Jeff Exum, did what he does best, Make Things Happen. In a matter of hours he was able to bring 95% of the product that we shared today.

This is just the beginning. Next month will be BIGGER and BETTER. Stay tuned. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Sandy Johnson’s Have a Heart 2 Help is pleased to announce its new partnership with First Fruits Farm. First Fruits Farm is a nonprofit, Christian ministry dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious food for the hungry through volunteer service and community partnerships.

Their mission: 100% of everything the Farm grows is donated in Jesus' name to feed children and adults who are struggling with hunger and access to healthy food.

First Fruits Farm has several programs including Volunteering (over 20,000 volunteers work the farm each year) and The Flourish Project is the care farming expression at First Fruits Farm, creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities and backgrounds to flourish physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

H2H partnership with First Fruits Farm will enable us to provide fresh produce once a month during our Just One Saturday, formally Feeding Our Friend. The partnership will also enable us to meet our own mission goals.
