Sandy Johnson's Have a Heart 2 Help

10/29/2026

Sandy Johnson’s Have a Heart 2 Help announces our Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser. As we enter the holiday season we are aware that this season does not look the same for everyone. There are multiple reasons that those in our community does not look forward to the holidays. H2H is attempting to reduce the strain and stress of the holidays by providing the supplies needed to prepare dinner for these days. We are asking that when the link is active, that you not only purchase from our popup store, but you share it as well. Both Victorious Living Faith and Have a Heart 2 Help are joined in this effort.

Why not get delicious popcorn to eat, share or gift (for the holidays)? And for those who are familiar with Double Good, why not try out new flavors like It’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Time or Sweetie, You Salty.

The Sale begins Monday, November 2, 2026 @ 5:00 PM. SHARE THE LINK.

All proceeds will be applied to creating holiday baskets for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Thanks and Be Blessed.

October 24, 2026, Day of the Children’s Coat Giveaway.

When I pulled up to the church there was already a line. I should have known this would be the indicator of how the day was going to be. It was a cool morning and we opened the door a few minutes early that it was on after that. We had “surges” throughout the day and when shut it down at 1pm we had gifted 191 coats.

We would like to first thank Operation Warm for providing the coats. Second, to our H2H board members and H2H Logistics team, you seem to out perform yourself with each event. Our kitchen staff kept kids and volunteers fed. Thanks Sonia and Wendy’s for the Hot Chocolate. Our team on the tables kept the crowd flowing (yes we had crowds). Clarence, Otis and Jeff made sure we had supplies from storage. And Kenndi was well……. being Kenndi. And thanks Dina Coleman-Reed for the photos that I always forget to take.

And if you are one of the folks that benefited from the coats, Thank You for Attending. H2H, ALL IN!

WE DID A THANG! On this past Saturday, September 19, 2026, Have a Heart 2 Help in collaboration with Victorious Living Faith Ministries proved that with planning, multiple events for the community can work.

We were able to carry out our regularly scheduled Free Market and provide produce to the community at no charge. Simultaneously with permission we were able to offer attendees to Essex Day parking spaces for a nominal donation. Finally, at the church we offered delicious fish sandwiches (combos) and desserts (SweetKakes by Kendra).

The day was not without (man-made) obstacles, but as with a lot of people they were not prepared for the amount of professionalism, the singlemindedness of keeping our eyes on the goal, and the strength of a power greater that any barrier that men can erect.

H2H and VLF would like to thank all the volunteers who made this Free Market/Essex Day and amazing success.

There’s No Stopping Us Now.

The day finally arrived quietly, The first official H2H Free Community Market. At 7:20pm one person was already sitting on the bench as we began setup. We were ready and the door was open at 9am, though again Assistant Director Jeff Exum whose new title may be “Senior Ambassador”, (Kennedi is our Youth Ambassador) continued to bring in donations. Thanks to R & J House of Harvest for the donation of recyclable bags.

It should be mentioned, that thought H2H had the lead on Maryland Ave, our collaboration with VLF had some other H2H members at Deep Creek Middle School. Again Jeff delivered donations there and by the end of both scheduled times we were empty. We would like to thank all the members and volunteers for H2H and VLF, we could not have done simulations events without you.

And a special thank you to Andre Reed who provided “after party” meals for us afterward. One down, many to go.
