The ribbon has been cut, and the 107 acre Bridgeton Nature Preserve is now officially open in Upper Bucks County! ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ๐Ÿž๏ธ

It was a wonderful Official Grand Opening Ceremony on Wednesday May 27th:

๐ŸฅพMadison DeGerolamo, Appalachian Mountain Club's Mid Atlantic Trails Coordinator, welcomed attendees.

๐ŸŒณ Jim Engel - former Tinicum Conservancy Executive Director, who played an instrumental role in pulling the pieces together to realize this park's purchase by Bridgeton Township - spoke to the crowd about the process & partnerships essential in making the Bridgeton Preserve possible.

๐Ÿ›๏ธBridgeton Township Supervisor Gard Holby, gave remarks to the approximately 40 attendees, and helped with the opening ribbon cutting.

๐ŸชGreg Bernet, Appalachian Mountain Club's Volunteer Trails Leader, highlighted the volunteer efforts he helped oversee (with a number of volunteer contributors participating) in the building of 3+ miles of trails over two years that are now part of the preserve. He led a group hike on the trails after also joining in the ribbon cutting.

What a difference years of multi-stakeholder partnerships can make.

We now encourage you to check out the Bridgeton Preserve regularly in the years ahead!

Getting the project done ahead of schedule in early May because there was so much volunteer participation.

Thank you to all of our Planting Blitz volunteers for helping get our Tinicum Creek Restoration efforts off to such a productive start!

Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve will be hosting a Native Plant Conference: Cultivating Ecological Stewardship this June in Doylestown.

Dr. Doug Tallamy will be the keynote presenter at the Conference.

Last year in our Summer 2025 Newsletter, we highlighted a book review of Doug Tallamy's book "Nature's Best Hope".

At the heart of the book is a concept Tallamy calls the Homegrown National Park - a nationwide movement where private landowners, homeowners, and communities, work together to transform portions of their properties into a network of healthy habitats.

This concept is what has inspired our recent initiative work to restore Tinicum Creek with native plants.

You can read the full book review by checking out our Summer 2025 Newsletter electronicallyhttps://static1.squarespace.com/static/5de966d5a14fa16969de5db6/t/68cb07d3e881360baa63a88c/1758136275507/TC+Spring+Summer+2025+LOW.pdf

If you'd like to register for the Native Plant Conference you can so on Bowman's Hill's website.

Thank you to everyone in the community who "Rounded Up" at the Register at Kimberton Whole Foods in April in support of Tinicum Conservancy!

More than $4,000 was raised through the April Round Up at the Register donations, which Kimberton Whole Foods generously matched for a total of more than $8,000 raised in support of our work of preserving open space.

We are deeply appreciative of the team at Kimberton Whole Foods for their support during this year's Earth Month.
