We are currently hosting a food and hygiene product drive for the Mercy Center of Asbury Park. Donations can be dropped off until May 29th at the hall in the dayroom. The Mercy Center is a non-profit social services organization that empowers and educates vulnerable individuals, families, and children, particularly those facing poverty, through programs like a food pantry, family resource center, and the Sisters Academy of New Jersey, a tuition-free middle school for girls. Any donations will be very much appreciated.

The Women in Leadership Development (WILD) Conference, hosted by the NJ AFL-CIO is an annual New Jersey event dedicated to educating, empowering, and training union women to become stronger leaders. NJ Governor Mikie Sherrill, Secretary Treasurer of the NJ AFL-CIO Laurel Brennan, and President of the AFL-CIO Elizabeth Shuler began the conference as keynote speakers. Local 9 women were in attendance this year and had the opportunity to participate in team building activities as Lean-In Circle Leaders and Present in the “We Were There” presentation.
