Some are Leo’s too!!!

Some very impressive members of Sacramento Barnyard Bidders Youth Investors recently stopped by to meet with me.

Programs like this support kids who are raising animals to show at the Sacramento County Fair and ultimately sell through the Junior Livestock Auction. It is hands-on, real-world experience that teaches responsibility, commitment, and the fundamentals of running a small business. Raising an animal to be market-ready takes discipline and care, and it also teaches an important lesson in seeing a project through from start to finish.

We were also joined by board members from Sacramento Barnyard Bidders, a group of youth, business owners, and community members working to make agricultural opportunities more accessible. These projects can come with real costs, and their support helps ensure students are able to participate and break even.

I appreciate the work they are doing to invest in the next generation, and I look forward to continuing to support these efforts.

Congratulations to Katie Carson on being named the Rio Linda Lions Club Student Speaker Winner and the Wolfskill Zone Student Speaker Contest Champion!

Katie will advance to represent the Wolfskill Zone at the Dos Rios Region Contest in March — an incredible achievement and a testament to her hard work, confidence, and dedication.

Katie, you are truly a rockstar. Keep shining and continuing to inspire those around you. We are so proud of you!

Congratulations to Edward Mazza for going to the next round in the Speaker Contest. We have two Leos (Katie Carson) competing in the next round of this Lions Student Speaker competition. Thankful for the opportunity for the Teens to share their thoughts on the topic of Youth Mental Health: Overcoming Barriers to Well-Being.

🍕 OFFICIAL TASTE TEST RESULTS 🍕

The results are in! We want to recognize every pizzeria involved and everyone who came out to taste and vote 👏

This was a TRUE double-blind taste test:
• Consumers did not know which pizza they were tasting
• Pizzerias did not know they were participating at all
• Pizza identities were revealed only after voting was complete

No names. No logos. No bias. Just honest taste. 🔥
