Maisie was physically carried out of a hideous existence in rural Clarke County because she was too scared to walk.
She shook the entire journey out.
It was obvious that she had been bred repeatedly, chained up, and unable to escape the roaming males around her. She had little to no food, filthy water she could barely reach, and no attention, affection, or basic care. It was a heartbreaking existence.
We were incredibly grateful to be able to get Maisie — and the other females — out of that life. We were also able to rescue the surviving babies.
Since the day we got her to safety, Maisie has been with her foster mom, and she absolutely LOVES her. Big love. ❤️ She is deeply attached to the person she trusts and has formed an especially sweet bond with her foster mom. She also adores the pack of foster pups she gets to play with.
Maisie is around 3 years old and is:
🐾 Spayed
🐾 Fully vaccinated
🐾 Heartworm treated
🐾 On preventatives
🐾 Silly and full of personality
🐾 Loving with people
🐾 Good with most other animals
🐾 Incredibly loyal and devoted to those she trusts
🐾 A good leash walker
🐾 And, most importantly, ready to be someone’s beloved pet
Maisie can be protective and is somewhat animal-selective. She plays wonderfully with her foster friends, but she doesn’t always appreciate unfamiliar animals entering her space without a proper introduction. We are happy to help with introductions and animal testing and to talk honestly with potential adopters about her personality, needs, and quirks.
After everything Maisie has been through, she deserves a family who will show her what love, safety, and a real home are supposed to feel like. ❤️
Please share Maisie in hopes of helping us find her forever family! 🏡🐾
