Located on 110 acres of mixed forest in the heart of the Manastash Canyon in the Eastern Cascade Mountain Foothills in Washington State, Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center is an ideal location any time of the year for groups to gather. We host non-profit groups for retreats, meetings, and conferences; Christian summer camps for children and youth; host school groups for environmental education opportunities; facilitate an excellent challenge course program; and offer retreats for youth and adults throughout the year. Our summer camp offers age specific programming to youth from kindergarten through high school for an awesome Christian, co-ed, residential camping experience. Then we have programs such as Lazy Daze for our mature (often retired) summer campers, winter camp (for high schoolers who can't wait for summer to come back around), and this year we offer a young adult retreat for those interested in discerning their call. Many of you have stories to tell about your Lazy F experiences! Please share your stories with others so that they too may come and experience the spiritual formation this place and its people can provide when we are open to hearing God's words.

Floating a support beam to the top of the bump out on the creekside of Ponderosa. Roofers came this morning and are about a third done installing the membrane. Weather looks like it will hold for the roof work!

Progression through the week of construction. Work on the framing of the creek side and roof to make it a vertical wall. Also framed in the lower level bump out that includes a huge window. Ready for roofing subcontractor to come on Monday!

Some rain and cooler this week, but the crew is looking good to have the roofing subcontractor start on Monday. The roofline on the creekside of the building is taking shape and they framed in a very large window on the first floor. That is what we wanted-big windows to enjoy the view!

A beautiful day for a walk at Lazy F! Even treated to a rainbow!

Another good week. Most of the work was on the side facing the campfire. This included removing the slanted wall near the roof and preparing the roof for an extension so it is consistent with Manastash Lodge.

This week the crew made great strides in changing the north wall-towards the campfire. The Mansard roof is gone and they worked on new framing on the roof to accommodate a cleaner wall so the building is in sync with Manastash Lodge. And lots of changes next week!

A big “welcome back!” to Travis Btitten as he returns to Lazy F as our Challenge Course and Housekeeping Coordinator. Travis is taking over after Mo and Karen left those roles in late summer. We look forward to seeing how Travis builds on the foundation built before him. Welcome back!

Both of the new entrances are sheeted and we now have a convertible building. The east top part of the wall is open as we prepare to remove the roof and create a similar look to Manastash Lodge.

Dallas shares about the accomplishments this week on the Ponderosa renovation. The two entrances are sheeted, the cricket on the back addition is sheeted, and demo on the slanted roof on the creekside of the building has begun. The crew knocked off early as they bring their families as guests of Lazy F to experience what we offer!

10/16/2026

Demo of the mansard roof on the north side of Ponderosa began today! The angled roof line will become a straight wall so it is in sync with Manastash Lodge.
