Yesterday afternoon, the Bartlett Police Charitable Foundation had the profound honor of being a part of the Love for Lilly event, a beautiful gathering held at the Hilton Memphis to show our unwavering support for Sergeant Sam Lilly of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 15, 2024, Sergeant Lilly was critically injured in a motorcycle accident while bravely responding to assist another deputy in distress. The injuries he sustained were life-threatening, but his spirit remains unyielding as he continues his recovery journey. Each day, he works tirelessly on essential tasks like standing, swallowing, and walking, demonstrating incredible resilience.
The atmosphere at the event was filled with love and support for Sergeant Lilly and his family. It was heartwarming to witness the community come together—businesses, individuals, and first responders united in their loud cheers and generous donations. The roars of encouragement for Lilly echoed throughout the room, reminding us all of the power of community and compassion.
