Today we recognize Chronic Disease Awareness Day—a day to honor the millions of people around the world living with long-term conditions that are often misunderstood, overlooked, or invisible.

Behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story of incredible strength. Living with a chronic disease can mean ongoing challenges, constant management, and navigating a journey that many never fully see.

Today, let’s talk about the founder, Sarahjean. She lives with two hand fulls of Chronic Illness

For the past 5-6 months has been rough for her. She wants to tell her journey

🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

I started to get sick 5-6 weeks ago. Like deadly sick. I mean it. Something wasn’t right. From feeeling like I weighed 1,000 pounds so my legs couldn’t hold me. I fell down stairs 4 times. Thru up 12 times in a single day and many days through out the month extreme abdomen pain, high heart rate, exploding diarrhea, uncontrollable shakes (which was from SHOCK), and every bone in my body felt like they were breaking. By week two i barely was able to walk. Now in this 5-6 weeks I maybe had 6 good or decent days.

I went to two different hospitals in MN with no help.

There was even a evening that now I now know was shock. I went into. Complete shock.

Fast forward. I had to call 911 in Michigan when home after falling down the stairs again.
Once I got to ER I had a 102.8 temperature. I was admitted.

After tests and tests.

Results:

- I had positive blood cultures. Meaning bacteria in my blood which is very dangerous.
- Elevated heart enzymes. So a silent heart attack or damage to my heart.
-Lung Nodule was found on left side
-My D Dimer blood was triple of what it should have been. Which means Pulmonary ambulation
-Kidney failure

By this point I lost all walking ability.

After more tests and some treatment,
Physical therapy and help with the infectious disease department and other stuff, this is the amazing result.

The nodule found in lung is a sever case of pneumonia, I also have infected blood with bacteria. Not sure of what kind yet. My enzymes went down so that was due to stress. 🎉 the D Dimer being high is due to pneumonia. 🎉

I am SEPTIC.

The doctor said unkindly more than once that I would have been dead within a week or two. Because I was untreated for so long. That most people with pneumonia for instance needs to find out within a weeks time to get treated and mine was a month plus I have bacteria flowing through my blood.

I kept fighting a fever. Every four hours for days.

To find out my implant port infected me. I had surgery to remove it. I will get another one when I’m cured.
At this point, I CAN WALK AGAIN🎉
Lots of pain still but a lot of positive strides.
I spent 7 days in the hospital.

I am better (using a wheelchair) and working up to recovery. ❤️‍🩹

Together, we can create a world filled with more compassion, better care, and hope for the future.

🎉 Today, POWER OF 10 Foundation turns 8 years old! 💙

Eight years ago, a dream was born from the belief that no one facing chronic illness, terminal illness, or disability should ever feel forgotten.

What started as a simple act of kindness has grown into a mission that has reached thousands of people around the world with care packages filled with hope, encouragement, and love.

This anniversary isn’t just about celebrating our organization—it’s about celebrating every volunteer, donor, supporter, partner, and recipient who has been part of this journey. Because of you, we’ve been able to remind so many people that they matter and that someone is thinking of them, even on their hardest days.

To everyone who has walked alongside us over the past eight years: thank you. Your generosity and compassion have made an incredible difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re also looking ahead with excitement. There are still so many lives to touch, so many smiles to create, and so much hope to deliver.

Here’s to 8 years of kindness, compassion, and community—and to many more years of making a difference together.

💙 Happy 8th Anniversary, POWER OF 10 Foundation!

I remember this day like it was yesterday. But it wasn’t yesterday was it? It still breaks me thinking about our sweet girl loosing her battle. But makes me smile to think she is no longer struggling. I would never want miss Brielle to ever have to suffer again like she did. These remembers are how I try to remember her.

Some children spend more time in a hospital room than they do on a playground.
Their childhood becomes a cycle of IV pumps, medications, surgeries, specialists, and hospital stays. They celebrate birthdays in hospital beds, miss holidays at home, and watch seasons change through a window. While most kids worry about homework or soccer practice, these children are learning to be brave through procedures no child should have to endure.
At POWER OF 10 Foundation, we can’t take away their illness—but we can remind them they are never fighting alone.
Every care package we send is filled with comfort, encouragement, and hope. It’s a reminder that someone, somewhere, is thinking about them. That they matter. That they are seen. Sometimes a blanket, a stuffed animal, an activity, or a handwritten note can brighten the hardest days.
For families living this reality, hope isn’t always found in big moments. Sometimes it’s found in a small box arriving at just the right time.
Thank you to every donor, volunteer, and supporter who helps us bring smiles to children facing the unimaginable. Because every child deserves moments of joy—even in the middle of a hospital stay. ❤️

Autism Awareness Day is more than a date—it’s a reminder to see, hear, and celebrate every unique mind. 💙

Autism is not something to be “fixed.” It’s a different way of experiencing the world—full of creativity, depth, brilliance, and perspective. Today, we stand for understanding over judgment, acceptance over assumptions, and inclusion over exclusion.

Let’s listen more. Learn more. Support more.
Let’s create spaces where individuals on the spectrum feel safe, valued, and empowered to be exactly who they are.

Different, not less. 💙
