Just like us, our partners across the region have seen pikes in their food pantry visits.

As noted in this Northern Express article, "Feeding America’s 2025 Map the Meal Gap study [reports that] food insecurity in Grand Traverse County rose from 10.7 percent of the population in 2021 to 13.5 percent in 2023. In nearby Benzie, the increase was even bigger, climbing from 10.9 percent to 14.7 percent over that same period."

It's clear that our neighbors need us more than ever. We're here for you anytime you need us.

The much-loved Empty Bowls event, which supports our partner, Northwest Food Coalition, will take place on May 3, 2026 to awareness about food insecurity in northwest Michigan.

Tickets are now on sale, with at-door tickets available. Tickets include one artisan bowl of your choice, a soup lunch from 17 different soup options, access to a harvest market, and family-friendly exhibits!

Since 2019, we've seen a 84% increase in the clients we serve at our food pantry.

This shows us that our work is more important than ever and that the need in our community is rising.

In addition to providing a food pantry for our community, we also offer urgent assistance upon request to our clients.

Such assistance may come in the form of supporting utility bill payments, medical transportation, rent coverage, and car repairs.

Last year, we're proud to have supported 10 families with these urgent needs.

It is because of generous community donations that we can provide this supplemental assistance to our clients.
