Important Update for Bladen County Agricultural Cost-Share Program Participants

The Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District Board approved several updates on May 9, 2026, to improve administration of the NC Agriculture Cost Share Program and the NC Agricultural Water Resources Assistance Program. These changes will take effect for Fiscal Year 2027, beginning July 1, 2026.

Key Changes:
βœ… Applications will be reviewed during two batching periods:
β€’ July 1, 2026 – September 4, 2026
β€’ September 5, 2026 – March 5, 2027

🌱 Cover crop applications will receive additional ranking consideration for planting multi-species mixes (2- or 3-species cover crops).

🌾 Cover crop incentive payments will be limited to 100 acres per participant per year.

πŸ’² Funding assistance will be capped at $15,000 per participant per year, helping distribute available funds more equitably among eligible applicants.

πŸ“ Unfunded applications will not carry forward from year to year. Producers seeking FY 2027 funding must submit a new application beginning July 1, 2026.

For questions or assistance with the application process, please contact the Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District office at 910-862-3179, ext. 3.
