SCRC Federal Co-Chair Dr. Jennifer Clyburn Reed testified before the U.S. House Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management.

She shared the positive impact SCRC has had across the Southeast Crescent region and the progress made through locally-driven investments in infrastructure, workforce development, and community resilience. We are grateful to the Subcommittee for the opportunity to highlight SCRC’s work. We are also thankful for the local, state, and community partnerships that make this work possible and whose leadership and collaboration help drive constructive outcomes every day.

Thank you to all who support and advance this work across seven states and 428 counties for the 51 million people who call the Southeast Crescent region home.

Congratulations to SEDC Vice Chairman and Sampson County Economic Development Director, Ray Jordan, on the announcement that LG Textile Corp will bring 100+ new jobs to Clinton!

The new cut-and-sew facility is set to create 60–80 jobs in 2025, with an additional 130 positions projected for 2026–2027. The plant, opening October 1, will produce high-quality apparel for premium and luxury brands under the leadership of industry veteran Fernando Herradon.

This is a huge win for our community, boosting local employment and economic growth. 👏

TEXTILE MANUFACTURER TO BRING 100+ JOBS TO CLINTON — Sampson County Economic Development Director Ray Jordan announced Tuesday morning that LG Textile Corp, a fabric developer and premium apparel manufacturer, has selected a site in Clinton for its new cut and sew facility.

The Clinton facility is expected to create 60-80 new jobs in 2025, with an additional 130
positions projected for 2026 and 2027.

The facility is slated to become operational by October 1, following necessary upfits.
The new plant will manufacture high-quality apparel for premium and luxury brands. Industry
veteran Fernando Herradon will lead operations at the Clinton facility, bringing decades of
experience and leadership to the site.
LG Textile Corp will temporarily occupy the building located at 409 Southeast Blvd in Clinton, while actively seeking a larger facility to accommodate its projected plans for growth.

US MgO has announced plans to build a new manufacturing facility for its innovative construction material products in Brunswick County, creating at least 35 new jobs and $5 million in new investments. Learn more: https://ow.ly/MVZI50VwPJz

Following a public hearing at the regular board meeting Monday, April 7, the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners approved the sale of approximately 22 acres in the Leland Innovation Park to US MgO. The company already has a local presence with research and development operations in Brunswick County and warehousing operations in Wilmington.

“Brunswick County is proud to support another exciting project that will further strengthen our local economy and provide new local jobs,” Brunswick County Chairman Mike Forte said. “We are so pleased to have US MgO expand their presence in our community, and we look forward to seeing their growth in the coming years.”

Partners on this project with US MgO include the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners, Brunswick Business & Industry Development, Brunswick Community College and North Carolina's Southeast.

We congratulate Mark Ward for his outstanding leadership and efforts in bringing Bailey Manufacturing Company (BMC) to Laurinburg, NC!

BMC will invest more than $4.3 million in its new facility, create 35 new jobs, and expand the region's economic growth. BMC manufactures stamped metal automotive components and provides machining, welding, and assembly services for leading companies, including General Motors.

The location in Scotland County will be a 50,000-square-foot production facility, doubling the company’s output and offering expanded manufacturing, warehousing, and administrative space.

This project demonstrates Scotland County’s dedication to supporting business growth and strengthening the community through impactful development initiatives.

Scotland County's economic development team and leadership's dedication and hard work were key to making this exciting announcement a reality. Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!

We would like to congratulate Will Wright, Director Raeford/Hoke Economic Development, for his exceptional leadership in facilitating the expansion of Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, LLC (PPT) in Hoke County, NC!



Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, LLC is set to invest $102.5 million and plans to build an additional 300,000 square feet across two new state-of-the-art facilities at the Hoke County Industrial Park. This expansion announcement by PTT is expected to create 217 new jobs, showcasing their continued commitment to increase its manufacturing capacity of transformers in the United States and contribute to reducing domestic supply chain shortages of critical transformer equipment.

Headquartered in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, with a nearly-century-old history, PTT is a leading domestic manufacturer of power and distribution transformers for the electric utility, municipal power, renewable energy and industrial markets. PTT built their first factory in Hoke County, North Carolina in 1992 and have been proudly manufacturing power transformers in this community for over 30 years.

This project highlights Hoke County’s dedication to supporting existing industries, helping them grow, and meeting the future growth needs in the power industry.

North Carolina’s Southeast is proud to have been a part of this project and values the engagement of Will Wright, Hoke County leadership, and all strategic partners for their relentless efforts in making this exciting announcement by PTT a reality!
