As hurricane season approaches in North Carolina, preparing before disaster strikes can make all the difference. A Post-Disaster Simulation helps individuals, agencies, and community partners experience realistic disaster scenarios in a safe learning environment to strengthen response, communication, and recovery efforts. See attachment for more information.
These simulations help participants:
Engage in real-world decision making under pressure
Improve coordination and making a plan
Identify emergency response plans and staying informed
Strengthen trauma-informed and behavioral health responses by building a kit for your family
Enhance community resilience and recovery efforts
Disasters impact more than buildings and infrastructure, they impact people emotionally, mentally, and physically. Simulation-based training provide opportunity to practice response that keeps families and communities safe.
