We were able to do a real cool thing yesterday, a nursing home in Darlington was compromised and had to emergency evacuate all of its residents to other nursing homes through the area. Our dispatch asked if we could send any of out ambulances to help. We were able to send an extra ambulances and crew while also maintaing our on call crew to take any 911 calls here in Elizabeth. Hanover Fire Department was able to send one of their first responders along with one of our paramedics along with 1 A12 to help. Galena, Stockton, and Warren were also able to send an ambulance to help out as well. This was a county wide effort to help our neighbors to the North. We would not have been able to do this without volunteers. Very proud of those who took time out of their otherwise normal busy day to help out when someone really needed it. A special thanks to Frank Randall & Jim Honerbaum, two class act guys, that represented Elizabeth ambulance and Hanover Fire respectively for this detail. We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you, and happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there 🦃

Elizabeth Community Ambulance is looking for a full time Paramedic to fill a 24 hour schedule. Job requirements: current IL Paramedic or ability to complete IL Paramedic in the next 12 months. Must be in good standing with Region 1 Resource Hospital. If interested, please send resume by December 13th to [email protected].
