It's that time of year! - Time for the Lions annual poinsettia sale! Only $15 for a 6.5" potted poinsettia plant, INCLUDING DELIVERY (if in Elgin, South Elgin, Carpentersville, and East/West Dundee. All proceeds go to providing eyeglasses for kids and adults.

Drug prevention isn’t just something we talk about; it’s what we DO. And this year, we took it to the next level!

We are beyond proud to announce that Fox Valley Young Marines is now a full-time member of the Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Elgin (CSHE)!
Our very own YM Cpl Bonnie Rickman has stepped up as the Project Coordinator for the Youth Division. She’s already representing FVYM at every monthly coalition meeting alongside police, the health department, schools, businesses, domestic violence shelters, and 12+ other community sectors, all united to keep our kids safe.

But it doesn’t stop there…

This year, our unit was selected to attend the CADCA National Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. While on Capitol Hill, we had the honor of meeting directly with Illinois Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin to advocate for closing the dangerous Farm Bill h**p “loophole” that allowed unregulated, high-potency synthetic cannabinoids (Delta-8, Delta-10, THCP, etc.) to be sold at gas stations and corner stores — with NO age checks and easy access for our youth.

And guess what? THE BILL PASSED! 🎉
Starting soon, these harmful chemical derivatives will no longer be sold unregulated anywhere in the US. Licensed, age-restricted dispensaries remain open, but the days of kids walking into a convenience store and buying something that can cause psychosis or worse are coming to an end.

This is what happens when Young Marines, community partners, and determined leaders refuse to stay silent.
