Teamsters Local 542 is pleased to recognize Shop Steward Maria Solano, who has earned a Shop Steward Appreciation Award.

Here's what Maria Solano from the County of Imperial Health Services had to say: "I've been a Teamster for 20 years and have been a Shop Steward for 15 years. I became a Shop Steward because I saw many of my coworkers did not raise concerns in fear of retaliation, therefore I decided to step up (become a Shop Steward) and stand up for my fellow coworkers to be their voice with management.
