Hazel Miller Foundation

Hazel Miller Foundation The Hazel Miller Foundation is a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the citizens of Edmonds and South Snohomish County, Washington.

Our grants are designed to serve non-profit organizations operating in Edmonds and South Snohomish County. As a young woman, Hazel moved to Seattle where she fell in love and married Morris Miller. Together they owned and operated a very successful business called Seattle Quilt Manufacturing Company, makers of the famous “comfy” sleeping bag, and after many years sold the business, retired, and en

joyed the last 30 years of their lives in Edmonds. They were avid salmon sport fishermen and committed members of the community. Hazel loved Edmonds so much that she wanted to give back to the community that brought her so much joy. When Hazel died in 2009, the Hazel Miller Foundation was created to benefit the people of Edmonds and South Snohomish County.

We're grateful for organizations like Lahai Health Clinic, which is committed to providing quality and compassionate care to individuals and families who face barriers to accessing healthcare in King and Snohomish Counties.

Their grant money allowed them to care for more people, providing patients with integrated and comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health counseling. Thank you for all you do in our community, Lahai!

Seattle Children's Chorus provides high-quality choral training and performance opportunities for young singers while fostering confidence, teamwork, and community connection.

Earlier this year, The Foundation awarded $3,000 to support need-based scholarships for South Snohomish County families participating in the Seattle Children’s Chorus.

By helping cover tuition for local students, the funding ensures that financial barriers do not prevent children from participating in music education.

We love how PEPS for Parents' hosts peer-led parent groups in South Snohomish County. Their programs reduce isolation and strengthen parents' well-being through weekly, community-based support in English and Spanish, both in person and online. PEPS has served families in the region since 2008, with programming that adapts to the changing needs of locals.

Their $5,000 grant supports ongoing programming.

With their ~$10,000 grant, the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation was able to provide gas and laundry vouchers to houseless single women and families living in their vehicles in the church's parking lot.

These funds helped recipients access hygiene services, commute to their jobs, and clean their clothes.

Bravo, Edmonds Unitarian Universalists!
