🎶 Great rehearsal today with our Youth Symphony!

Students worked in sectionals first and showed wonderful dedication and focus. When we came together for full orchestra rehearsal, the improvement was already clear — great work from everyone!

A big thank you to our UTRGV students and professor Marco for leading sectionals. Your leadership truly makes a difference for our young musicians.

From our returning leaders to our new members joining us this season, the energy in the room has been incredible. Rehearsals are going great, and amazing things are coming.

✨ What a Weekend for Our Young Musicians! ✨

This afternoon we had our very first rehearsal of the season, and I could not be more proud of the focus, energy, and heart our students brought into the room. First rehearsals are always special — new music, new goals, new beginnings — and today truly felt like the start of something beautiful.

To our Youth Symphony musicians: thank you for your commitment, your preparation, and the respect you show one another. We are building something meaningful together. 💛🎶

We also want to extend a huge congratulations to our students who participated in the Texas All-State Orchestras at Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) this weekend in San Antonio. Being part of All-State is an extraordinary achievement, and we are incredibly proud of your dedication and hard work. You represent our community with excellence! 🌟

And a very special THANK YOU to our friends at Bosky Strings for generously providing beautiful folders to help our students stay organized with their new music. Your support means so much to us, and we are grateful to have community partners who believe in young musicians. 🎼💛

It truly takes a village to support music education in our community — and we are so thankful for ours.

The future of music in the Valley is bright — and today reminded me why.

We know this weekend is a big one for many families with the Super Bowl happening on Sunday, so we’ll be giving everyone that weekend to enjoy and rest.

Youth Symphony auditions are happening Sunday, February 1, at 2:00 PM at the Performing Arts Center at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

📣 Audition Date Update – Important Correction 🎶

Due to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Solo & Ensemble competition taking place on Saturday, January 31, we will be moving Youth Symphony auditions to Sunday, February 1.

We want to make sure all students have the opportunity to participate fully and without conflicts.
