Texas Alliance for Youth Success

Texas Alliance for Youth Success VISION: A Texas where all youth have equitable opportunities to develop their strengths, lead in their communities, and build successful futures.

Our mission is to support children and youth who are currently or formerly in foster care by providing training, development, leadership opportunities, and other resources that cultivate belonging, professional growth, and a successful transition to adulthood. Additionally, we will raise public awareness about current issues impacting these children and youth.

BIG NEWS: Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 7432 (The Fostering the Future Act), which is now headed to the Senate.

Each year, over 15,000 young people age out of foster care without the support they need to thrive. Today, Congress took a monumental step to change that.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Fostering the Future Act (H.R. 7432) — a bipartisan legislative package that modernizes the John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood.

CSSP and the CARES Initiative applaud Bipartisan Congressional leadership, and thank , , and for their partnership – and join them all in celebrating today’s passage.

As Alexandra Citrin, our Director of Family Autonomy and Child Welfare Policy, said:

“When policymakers listen to young people, advocates, and organizations devoted to implementing research-backed solutions, then common sense policy can reach and transform the lives of young people across the country.”

This is the first step. CSSP reiterates our commitment to advancing solutions that reimagine how policy supports young people in their communities.

Today we celebrate the incredible youth workers who dedicate their time, compassion, and energy to supporting young people every day.

Thank you for advocating, mentoring, encouraging, and creating safe spaces where youth can grow and thrive. Your impact reaches far beyond what words can express. 💙

A sibling is more than a family member. They are a witness to your life. 👫

For youth in foster care, a brother or sister can be the one person who remembers your childhood, who shares your story, who understands the loss.
When the system separates siblings, it doesn't just separate bodies—it separates hearts.

This April, we are standing with the National Network for Fostering Sibling Connections for the first-ever National Sibling Connections Awareness Month. Join us in fighting for policies and practices that prioritize connection.

Did you know? 🤔

Up to 75% of siblings in foster care are separated from each other.

That means thousands of brothers and sisters grow up apart—often losing their only consistent source of love and support.

This April, we are proud to recognize National Sibling Connections Awareness Month. Follow the National Network for Fostering Sibling Connections to learn how you can help change these numbers.
