Camping, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social and educational activities. Camping teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the developmen

t of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership—all amidst the fun of camp fires, bugle calls, canoeing, archery, talent shows, and meaningful relationships. Y counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.

Next up in our get to know the staff - Activity Directors and a little bit about them!

Top Left Photo : Christoph is back for his 3rd summer as Waterfront Director! This will be Christoph's 5th summer at camp and he can't wait to be back to his favorite spot at camp.

Top Right Photo : Eva, High Ropes Director This will be Eva's 4th year at Camp Letts. Last year she was our Assistant Ropes Director and is excited for another summer at Letts!

Bottom Left Photo : Rafa, Pool Director. This will be Rafa's 4th summer at camp and 2nd up at the pool were he was Assistant Pool Director last year. He can't wait to be back!

YMCA Camp Letts is excited to announce registration is open for our Labor Day Family Camp!

Friday, Sept. 4 – Monday, Sept. 7, 2026

Please join us at Camp Letts this Labor Day weekend. Enjoy all that camp has to offer with the whole family. Stay in a cabin, eat in the dining hall, and enjoy all our activities throughout the weekend.
Is your day camper considering overnight camp? Family Camp is a great way to check it out all together.
Y Membership is not required.

Our Get to Know the Staff series continues—join us in welcoming Sully back to Camp Letts!

“Hey I’m Sully, I’m going to be the new male unit director this summer! This is my third year working at Letts, but I originally came to camp as a camper. Camp Letts is such an amazing place, it has been a second home for me my whole life. Outside of camp, I study Political Science and Spanish at JMU. I’m crazy excited to see all of the returners again and welcome all the new faces to such an amazing place.”
