We are a little saddened and worried today. Sweet senior boy Sheldon had to be taken to an emergnecy vet appt. He showed signs of not feeling well today. His foster acted quickly and called us. He got him to the vet as soon as the vet could see Sheldon.

Sweet boy has an infection, fever and bloodwprk came back that he has hyperthyroidism.

He does need a dental sooner than later as well.

With over $2100 in bills already, dental funds still needed for Sheldon and Saradina and now this appointment its been a tough month.

We need you all. Every dollar adds up. Every donation of food or litter means our funds are freed up a little for some of this debt.

PLEASE HELP US HELP THEM.

Happy Monday!!

What a whirlwind we have had here at the sanctuary.

Just a little insight on what's been happening in case you missed anything last week.

*Three of our forever fosters went in for their vet appointments. Squeekers is stable on her meds and food change. Bobbi, has some teeth that need removed, he is prediabetic so we are adding a diet change to his routine along with some supplements. Tuffy's bloodwork showed an infection in his body and he had a fever. He is on antibiotics and being monitored closely.

*Sadly 2 of the 4 auto zone kitties passed away, they fought hard but their fragile bodies needed to rest. Their other 2 siblings are doing well at this time in their foster home.

*We took in a senior black cat from an independent trapper from NF on Tuesday. He was in pretty rough shape but slowly getting healthier. He will be having both of his eyes removed Tuesday the 23rd at the Niagara County Spca. We are thankful for their help with this boy whom we named Sam. He is turning out to be sweet and friendly. He has many other appointments lined up to make sure he is on the right path for health including a dental down the road. Any and all help is needed for him. He needs this chance.

*We have a donation match of $500 from a loyal supporter Jacob Coil. We still have $300 to reach this goal. All funds for this will be for Sheldon and Sarafina dentals. WE NEED THEIR DENTALS SOON1
The estimate is between $3600-$4200, and we are still $2500 away from the low end of this goal.

* We also have a raffle happening right now for the dentals as well. The raffle end on Friday the 26th. Only 14 people entered so far. the odds are fantastic of winning.

*The young male cat from the Youngstown project was finally able to be vetting this past week. He is in his foster home decompressing and learning what sanctuary life is all about

* We are diligently working on our raffle. have a few hiccups with location but it's getting narrowed down and worked out. Details to follow soon. We are still collecting items to raffle. Baskets, gift cards, high ticket items. We need to make this Raffle better than the last. We are super excited to see you all again soon.

*We have been begging for some food, litter and supply donations. We are dangerously low on all items. If you are able to help, we greatly appreciate it. As do the kitties.

* Last but definitely not least WE HAD TO CLOSE ON INTAKES OF OUR WAITING LIST. This is devastating and we hope it not long before we can reopen it. We have a few on the list that are in jeopardy of not being safe much longer. In order to take them we need sponsors for each cat and that's not an easy task to fulfill. If you are able to sponsor a cat at risk, please reach out. We have a 5 on the list in serious danger.

We hope you all have a fantastic week! All of us here at Forgotten Felines of WNY will be working hard at making sure all of the sanctuary cats are loved, taken care of and never forgotten. We appreciate all you do for us.

A few days ago someone messaged us asking for details on what it costs a month for food, litter, basic supplies a month. So we did all the math in a break down per cat.

For basic care of food, litter and upkeep of 1 cat is approx $2.62 a day (without medications or supplements)

Per cat no extra expenses:
$2.62 a Day
$78.60 a month
$943.20 a year

Times that by 47 sanctuary cats:
$123.14 a day
$3,694.20 a month
$44,330.40 a year

Thats for basic needs and care. No emergency appointments, no medications, no supplements, nothing extra!!

As you scroll social media and see all of the smaller organizations hanging on for dear life to keep helping the animals be supportive. This is just a glimpse as to what we all deal with daily. A glimpse of what costs we stress over daily. This is just the minimum. Now add in the vet appoinments, the sick appointments, the surgeries, the medication/supplements, the special foods and emergency visits.

So many things that aren't spoken about in animal welfare and the struggles all of us battle each and everyday whether a rescue, shelter or sanctuary. Its not just about taking in an animal.

This is why we need all of you to support the animals in need. They all need you. We all need you. Even if you can spare $1 it helps one way or another. Don't like donating money. How about food or litter. Its all a need daily.

So if an organization can raise 10k for bills and supplies it doesnt last long as you can see!

Please keep sharing and helping where you can. The animals deserve it!

We ask and beg for help so Animals like Clawdia here who was left to suffer the streets of NF to have litter after litter and almost not make it herself. Shes loving sanctuary life and will never suffer again.

So please dont just scroll past and say to yourself " someone else can help" We all need to help them. ORGANIZATIONS NEED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.

A like, a comment a share! 50 centa $1 it all helps!!!!
