She was 18 years old, driving home with her hazard lights on because her window was broken — and she ended up on the ground, punched in the face by a state trooper. 💔

Her name is Alisa Hackett, of Osceola, Arkansas. Pulled over on August 1st for speeding, the stop escalated, and Arkansas State Police's own use-of-force report confirms what the video shows: a trooper struck her in the face during her arrest. 📋⚠️

An 18-year-old. Unarmed. And still met with a closed fist. 😔

We keep asking the same question because it keeps happening: what does real accountability look like? How many more videos, how many more reports confirming what we can already see with our own eyes, before something actually changes? 🙏

UPDATE 🚨 We now know who the young man in that video is.
His name is Tedrick Washington Jr., a Blytheville, Arkansas native who played college basketball at Southeast Missouri State and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. 🏀
Here's what's been confirmed by news reporting: Washington was a backseat passenger — not the driver — during an August 19th high-speed pursuit in Blytheville. After the vehicle was stopped, a trooper broke the SUV's window, grabbed Washington by his dreadlocks, pulled him through the opening, and punched him. He was later charged with obstruction and resisting arrest. 📋
Here's the part that should stop all of us in our tracks: Arkansas State Police reviewed the use of force and determined the trooper's actions were justified. ⚠️
Washington posted the footage himself, saying he wants his story heard and that "justice will be served." 🙏

**A Boy Who Refuses to Quit**

Small hands grip the frame of his gait trainer, sneakers planted on cracked pavement that feels like a mountain. Every push forward costs him something the rest of us never think about. But he pushes anyway.

Beside him, his father kneels — not lifting him, not doing it for him, but steady, present, coaching him through it one step at a time: *"There you go. Just lift up. Push. Let's go."* That's the whole secret in four words. Not "let me carry you." Just: I'm here, and you can do this.

This is what strength actually looks like. Not the absence of struggle, but showing up for it anyway — a boy who gets frustrated and keeps going, and a father who understands that the greatest gift isn't clearing the path, it's walking beside him while he clears it himself.

One day, that sidewalk won't feel so long. One day, those same legs will run. And when they do, it won't be a miracle out of nowhere — it'll be the direct result of a thousand ordinary evenings just like this one, where nobody gave up.
