Thank you Mickie Duesing of Dat Dues Dough for the Sourdough Beyond Basics class last night. We learned a lot about troubleshooting proofing problems and the effects of different techniques.
Samples of the all-purpose vs bread flour debate are available at the library right now as well as her pretzel bread.
One lucky participant took home the example dough and is enjoying the baked bread.

The 2026 Sourdough Bake-Off is in the books. Thank you Mickie Duesing, Claudia Felske, and Erin Friemoth for judging. Rebbeca Hayden’s cinnamon sugar pretzel bites once again took top honors in the sweets category. The Gleisner family’s Earl Grey Raisin Pecan Bread took home. Best in Show.
Samples are currently available at the library.

Sounds like fun!

It’s Movie time!
Zootopia 2 will be playing this Friday at the VFW pavilion here in the upper park of the park at dusk! Sunset is right around 8 pm.

With our sudden closure we have lots of food and snacks.

Join us for a fun cookout with all of your beach favorites.
We will start serving at 5pm.

All of our August events will be done at the VFW pavilion.

August 28 Andy and Matt will belting out the hits.

Local author and Ten Chimneys docent Mary Ann Noe will talk about her mystery series featuring Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne.
This will be held at the Community Center at 2:00 on Monday, August 17th.
Our Adult Book Club is reading Deserving of Murder, the first in the series, for our September book. Copies are available at the library.

As the school year nears, the dinosaurs we put out for adoption will need a space to keep them and the house safe during the school day.
Register for the summers last Art Attack on August 14th at 3:15pm and make your dinosaurs a home. (Additional dinosaurs are still looking for a forever home.)
