Dolly gave us an autographed book and an autographed photo, which I just got in the mail last week. These two items were given to us with the requirement that they both have to be used for fundraising. So, we are having an auction. The person with the highest bid can have their choice of the book or the photo. Bids can be made by sending an email to [email protected]

💔 A LEGEND, A DREAMER, AND A CHAMPION FOR CHILDREN

Today, we say goodbye to Dolly Parton. A true American icon whose impact reached far beyond music.

At the East Rochester Public Library, we are especially grateful for the legacy she created through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Our library is proud to support the East Rochester chapter of this incredible program, which puts books into the hands of local children and helps families build a love of reading from the very beginning.

Dolly understood something incredibly important: a book can open a door to an entirely new world. She believed every child deserved the opportunity to dream, learn, and imagine, and she turned that belief into something tangible for millions of children.

Because of her, children right here in East Rochester have books arriving at their homes every month.

That is a legacy that will live on, one story, one child, and one book at a time. 📚❤️

Thank you, Dolly, for giving the world so much music, laughter, kindness, and most importantly, imagination!

Your dream will continue.

Rest in peace, Dolly. 🌹

Very sad news today. Dolly "The Book Lady" died at 80. She was truly an amazing person. Just a few days ago I received this autographed photo from her in the mail. We will use it in a future fundraiser.

ERPL would like to thank Free Books For ER Kids and Ashley Dulac for the new addition to our Library. Ashley purchased the colorful chair you see displayed in the picture as part of RIT's CHAIRity Auction. It was originally purchased by Ashley for the East Rochester Chapter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, but both of them decided it would be more at home in our Library.
