Y’all know what they say… they come in 3’s. 😭💔

Sweet Baby Jane, just 14 years old, passed away peacefully today at our house. I was so hopeful that she would pull through, but sadly, she was already ill when she arrived at the sanctuary a month ago.

My heart is broken that we couldn't get this sweet girl better and give her more time. I'll always remember how loving she was from the very first day. Even though our time together was far too short, I'm grateful she knew love, comfort, and compassion in her final days.

Rest peacefully, Sweet Jane. You were loved, and you will be missed. 🙏🏼💔

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Simon at home, who was 15 years young. He with us 10 months to the day, after his previous owner went into assisted living. Simon was a whole earless vibe lol with an attitude! I loved him and his face the moment I saw him. He was such a big hit at PALOOZA!!! I hope he knows how much he was adored every day, and especially in these last days. No matter how hard these moments are, it is an honor to care for these precious seniors at the end of their lives. It is a privilege to keep these elders out of the humane society, while giving the human owners peace of mind. Simon was loved until the end. Thank you God for your strength to be your hands, doing this very special work. It is my life’s greatest work

You know Christopher said a few years ago that we were going to have a mass exodus of animals and he wasn’t kidding. Yesterday Simon was taken to the vet for weight loss. After an ultrasound showed fluid around his liver and a mass further back toward the intestines it was determined that he most likely has cancer. We’re awaiting lab results, however, in the meantime, he’s a had a significant decline with difficulty ambulating and decreased appetite. I don’t post this stuff for sympathy, really just to be open, honest and transparent. Animal rescue is HARD. Senior rescue- next level. If you could send up a prayer for a comfortable, peaceful passing, we would appreciate it 🙏🏼💔

Baby Jane is hanging in there. She is still purring through the sickness. I’m trying to provide a warm, quiet space for her to recover, while making sure she gets her meds twice a day. These animals have no idea how much they weigh on my heart. Lots of missed sleep over their failing health. Some days I’m not sure it’s worth it, but then I’m reminded what a gift it is to be there for these souls on their hardest days.

This poor soul is going through it. She has a terrible URI. Had a Convenia injection that was ineffective. So Amox/Clav it is. Today is the first day I’ve seen her eat anything in days. Prayers for Baby Jane appreciated 🙏🏼❤️

Two years ago, Christopher and I took in Mom Oreo and her 5 babies. Three babies were adopted, but we still have two- Horns and Bangs. They are both great cats! Neutered and spayed! Litter trained!
