It was great to be part of two community events that were held this past weekend! 💙🤍

The East Liverpool City Hospital’s community festival was a great time of connection on Saturday, October 24. Many local businesses and organizations came together to offer free services and information. 💫

During the event we held our 2nd Golf Drop with the help of the East Liverpool Fire Firefighters Local 24. Thank you again to the firefighters for bringing their aerial ladder truck and for agreeing to dump the golf balls onto the target below.
🚒 🎯
The winner, whose golf ball fell closest to the target, was Stacey Olson! Ticket number 132. Congratulations Stacey! 👏 🥳 And thank you to EL City Hospital for partnering with us on the fundraiser.

October 24 was also World Polio Day 💜 and we recognized it by passing out purple pinkie cream sticks at the community day. Thank you to L&B Donuts and Catering for making the donuts! 🍩 The donuts represent the children whose pinkies are marked with purple ink once they receive the polio vaccine.

On Sunday, October 25 our BOSS Interact Club joined us at the Trunk or Treat event in East End. They helped us pass out candy to hundreds of area kids who came through. Thank you to Megan Beagle for hosting and organizing the day. It is always a great success! 🎃

💫 At this week’s meeting Cathy Grafton welcomed her guest and nephew Joshua Grafton. Josh talked about a podcast that he releases biweekly titled, “Grace, Love and Service” in connection with St. John Lutheran Church, East Liverpool. ⛪️ 🗣️ 🎧

Josh, Pastor Eric Edwards and Andrew McCarty started the podcast earlier this year. They have experimented with different formats, including interviewing individuals about their faith journeys and discussing the previous Sunday’s sermons in greater detail, but their main goal is to always share the gospel. ❤️

Josh said it has been a collaborative effort with several other members of the church contributing to the podcast’s jingle, artwork and sound. The show can be streamed for free on any platform that offers podcasts. 🎧👂🏻
