‼️Please be aware of updates to SNAP benefits and HEAP based on the government shutdown.

As I am announcing right now, because of the federal government's shutdown, effective this November, all SNAP recipient benefits are on hold. This will affect 140,000+ Erie County residents.

Additionally, and also because of the federal government's shutdown, the start of the regular HEAP season has been delayed to November 17 from November 3. This will affect 92,000+ Erie County residents.

While the Erie County Department of Social Services will continue to process applications for both programs, no benefits will be provided for either until the shutdown ends.

More information will be provided later today.

Who can sponsor a child or family?
🎁Individuals, families, businesses, organizations or any other groups!

How it works: you let us know how many children you’d like to shop for, and we provide you with their “wish list,” which includes items they are in need of, and items from their wish list.

Our families that apply do so because they’re facing temporary financial difficulties.

We’ve recently had some inquiries about Clothing donations, so we wanted to get this info out to those who may need it! We accept clean and gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and footwear. Our Clothing Room is open twice a month (and by appointment) for those who need it.

Items we do not accept:
* Used undergarments (bras, underwear)
* Used pajamas for adults
* Clothing that is not in good condition (stained, ripped, torn)

PM/DM us with any questions, or drop them in the comments!

Donations are accepted on the days the Clothing Rooms are open or by appointment.

We recently welcomed Girl Scout Troop 32300, who collected non-perishable food items to help with our Community Pantry and grocery program. We are very grateful for the donations and the ability to give them a presentation!

📢We are seeking out donations of new or gently used fall/winter clothing (no shorts or tank tops), in the following sizes:
Girls size 24 month, 3t, 6-6x, 7 and 8
Boys 5t

Winter gear is welcome too for men, women and children, including boots and snow pants.

Drop off Thursday between 5-7pm for open clothing room hours, or email [email protected] to arrange drop off.
