Every purchase helps support literacy in our community and makes a difference for local readers and students. There are many ways to support The Open Book Project:

πŸ“š Donate books
πŸ“š Volunteer your time
πŸ“š Make a financial contribution
πŸ“š Join one of our book clubs

We welcome everyone and hope you’ll consider becoming part of our community.

A special thank you to everyone who has helped us provide books to first-year teachers as they build their classroom libraries. This important work would not be possible without your generosity and support.

πŸ‘€ As we look back at all of the first-year teachers we were able to help last year through your generosity, it’s hard to believe another school year is coming to an end. Soon, a new group of first-year teachers will begin, and we would love to support them once again.

The Open Book Project is accepting donations of school-age books to help first-year teachers build their classroom libraries.

If you are a first-year teacher in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, or Pickens County, please contact us at [email protected] to schedule a time to pick out FREE books for your classroom. Appointments available beginning June 1 and will continue while supplies last.

Please share this post so we can help as many first-year teachers as possible. Thank you for supporting literacy, teachers, and students in our community.

Through the Lottery Box of Giving, The Open Book Project is proud to award funding to Able South Carolina to build a collection of disability-led literature and zines.

This collection will empower disabled youth to see themselves represented in the books they read, help dismantle stigma, and foster a lasting sense of community and belonging.

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, donors, customers, and volunteers. Your generosity makes it possible for The Open Book Project to support inclusive literacy initiatives and ensure that all young people have access to books in which they can see themselves reflected.
