The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for San Antonio and much of South Central Texas on Thursday as forecasters expect some of the hottest conditions of the summer so far.

The warning will be in effect from noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday and covers a broad swath of South Central Texas, including the Interstate 35 corridor from Austin to San Antonio. Counties under the warning include Williamson, Hays, Travis, Bastrop, Lee, Uvalde, Medina, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Caldwell, Fayette, Maverick, Zavala, Frio, Atascosa, Wilson, Karnes, Gonzales, DeWitt, Lavaca and Dimmit.

Forecasters expect San Antonio to reach a high temperature of around 96 degrees. But humidity will make it feel much hotter. The National Weather Service forecasts a heat index of about 112 degrees in San Antonio, with values between 110 and 113 degrees expected across much of the region.

‼️ONE DEAD AFTER WARREN BUFFETT-OWNED COMPANY’S JET CRASHES IN LAREDO‼️

Laredo, TX — A business jet carrying six people crashed onto Loop 20 Tuesday night, erupting into flames and triggering a massive emergency response that shut down portions of one of the city’s busiest roadways.

According to preliminary information, the aircraft went down shortly after 10 p.m. and struck a black pickup truck before coming to rest on the highway. Initial reports indicate one person aboard the aircraft was killed, while multiple others were injured.

Police officers and nearby bystanders were among the first to arrive at the scene. Witnesses reported seeing people abandon their vehicles and rush toward the burning aircraft, with several individuals attempting to break through the cockpit window in an effort to rescue those trapped inside.

Firefighters quickly responded and battled the intense blaze using specialized firefighting foam designed for fuel-fed aircraft fires. The foam helps suppress vapors, cool burning fuel, and prevent re-ignition during aircraft emergencies.

Authorities say five police officers were transported for treatment after suffering smoke inhalation while assisting during the rescue efforts.

As the emergency response unfolded, large sections of Loop 20 were closed to traffic. Community officers from the City of Laredo assisted with traffic control and road closures while the Texas Department of Public Safety assumed control of the road blocking soon after.

The aircraft involved in the crash was operated by NetJets, a private aviation company owned by Berkshire Hathaway, the multinational conglomerate founded and long led by billionaire investor Warren Buffett. NetJets confirmed that one of its aircraft was involved in the Laredo crash and stated the company is cooperating with investigators.

Federal, state, and local authorities remain on scene as investigators work to determine what caused the aircraft to crash. Additional information is expected as the investigation continues.

This is a developing story.

Choche's BBQ & Bar

A few weeks ago I was approached by representatives of the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino about collaborating with them on Father's Day.

What can you say except "Hell Yea"

So Choche's will be closed on Father's Day...but the good news is you can come out to the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino between 11am and 4pm to hang out, talk BBQ and taste tons of great "Q".

Exhibitions include: Starting Fires, Trimming Briskets, and even a little Steak Class...and you'll get to try what we cook.

We are honored and excited to work in collaboration with the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino and look forward to doing more together.

Maybe someday we can put a Brisket Sandwich cart inside and excite all of our out of town guests...lol Be on the lookout for the complete itinerary for Sunday.
