Attention club members. Saturday November 7th the Cowbelles are putting on their annual pie and burro event. We will be having a ride that day to the Blue. As always, the ride will have a leader and tail gunner. If you plan to attend, meet at the south side of the Rodeo Grounds at 8am. From there they will trailer to Luna Lake, then ride up to the Blue for pies and lunch. Be sure to pack snacks, drinks and have plenty of fuel. Take warm clothes in case. The ride is around 60 Miles. Hope to see you there for the fun and good food!

The October 17 Greens Peak ride started at the Fairgrounds and trailered to the Sheep Corrals. Gregg Hand led the ride and John Seeley was the tail gunner. There were a total of 5 machines and 9 people. The group rode up to the towers to look at the amazing views of the trees turning colors. We also rode over to the CC Cabin for lunch where it was a lot warmer. After lunch and visiting, we then rode to Cameron Lake, then to the springs, and finally returning to the Sheep Corral. Thanks to all that were able to join the ride, and to Ruth C***s for supplying a summary of the ride and pictures.

UPDATE: Saturday, October 17, 2026 - The ride this Saturday, Oct 17th will now take place around Green's Peak, NOT to the Blue for lunch and pies. We will still meet at the south side of the fair grounds at 8:00am, but the ride will now be in the Green's Peak area. This is a 60 mile ride with Gregg and Karen guiding and John and Ruth tail gunning. Be sure to pack a lunch and dress warm. Hope you can make it.

October 8th, 2026
The fall color ride took place today, led by Greg and Karen Hand with John and Ruth as tail gunners. Five machines were on the ride, including members Barry Williams Ron Runyon, and Bill Reid. The ride left the equipment yard at 9:00am, went up Water Canyon to Big Lake, then up Burro Mountain to the John Wayne cabin. From there we took the 409 road to 90, then back down Water Canyon for a total of 55 miles. Beautiful fall weather, some deer spotted, and lots of trees showing off their colors - all made for a great ride. Thanks to Ruth for sending pictures and a summary of the ride!

Apache County ATV Club Volunteers

Our volunteers helped with Better World Barbecue 2026.
Volunteers hauled trash for 4 days, helped keep the venue clean, set up the raffle and assist with the raffle drawing. The volunteers were included in the post barbecue ride and lunch to Alpine. Thank you so much to the following that represented our club:

August 22, 2026 Ride

The Club ride Black and Blue was guided by John Seeley with Greg and Kate Hand as tail gunners. There were 9 machines and riders included: Fred and Kathy Perry, Chuck and Tammy Turner, Ron Runyon, Gary Lund, Chris and Cathy, and Bob and Marsha Farnsworth.

The ride began by trailering to the Alpine school. From there, we traveled the 403 road, down to the Black River and came back up the 37 road. We then went over Red Hill road down to the Blue River and traveled back to the Alpine school for a total of 81 miles.

We saw on our ride deer, elk, turkeys and big horn sheep. We got into little rain but not bad. All in all it was a great ride with great company.

AUGUST 22, 2026 RIDE
John will be doing Black and Blue ride on August 22nd. He will stage at the rodeo grounds leaving at 8 am and trailering to the Alpine school parking lot. He will travel down Black river and go to the Blue River, back up to Luna lake and then back to the school parking lot. The ride is about 60 miles. Bring lunch, snacks, drinks, plenty of fuel, and also pack rain gear.

AUGUST 27, 2026 PRE-RIDE
Mel is planning on a pre-ride August 27th up Horton Creek to Hannagan Meadows. Staging will be at the Eagar maintenance yard at 8 am going up water canyon. This pre-ride will be about 100 miles. Currently Mel plans on doing the actual ride on September 19th.

The ride was beautiful and we had nice weather until after lunch at the Black River overlook. Then the thunder and some lightning started, so we all loaded up and started back, with it raining most of the way back.
There were a lot of campers out today.
Thanks to Rusty for taking a lot of pictures, and to Ruth for providing pictures and a summary of the ride.

All in all, another great ride!!!
