Good morning from our Founder, John A. Brown.

Mr. Brown founded the Leanna Brown Gibson Johnson Scholarship Foundation in honor of his mother, Leanna, carrying forward her legacy of faith, service, and opening doors for others.

Here’s a little more about the man behind the mission:

💙 Favorite color?
“Blue.”

😊 Fun Fact about you?
“I believe there’s always room for laughter. My family knows I enjoy a good joke, especially when they least expect it.”

🌎 Your vision for the Foundation?
“To be a major anchor of opportunity within the communities we serve.”

🕊️ One piece of advice?
“Always search for peace. No matter what life brings, find a place where you can be at peace with yourself, with others, and with your decisions.”

📱What about social media?
“I'm old school, but young at heart so I may not understand how it all works, but I understand the power of connection. If it helps us reach more people and connect them with opportunity, I believe in it.”

We’ve been a little quiet on social, but we haven’t been still. Behind the scenes, the work of LBGJ has continued—supporting scholars, building community, strengthening partnerships, and thoughtfully planning for what comes next.

Because while the posts may have paused, the mission never did.

And now, we’re ready to share more of the work, the people, the stories, and the impact that continue to move Leanna’s legacy forward.
