That's a wrap on 2026 Summer Program at Myers-Wilkins Elementary School!

Feels like it takes forever for summer to get here and, when it does, the time goes by at 2.0x speed. Proud of these kiddos for all they accomplished, thank you to the families + community partners who made it possible, and know we're looking forward to doing it again in the fall!

If you're ever interested in joining the festivities, sign up to support a club or lead your own at https://www.duluthcsc.org/volunteer!

Special thank you to our partners- without you we couldn't make this happen.

We just wrapped up the summer Bike Club at Myers-Wilkins yesterday with an exciting field trip to the Ski Hut Adventure Center! We got a tour of the shop, biked the Waabizheshikana Trail, and were treated to a well-deserved scoop of ice cream before heading back - it was a blast!

None of this - spring, summer, or fall - would've been possible without an amazing partnership with Ski Hut! From donating our (brand new) bikes last year to putting the weekly routes together, their commitment to getting kids on bikes is unparalleled. We are so incredibly thankful for their support and want everyone to know how much they care about our Hillside neighborhood. Thank you, Ski Hut + Kesti + Torch!

At Myers-Wilkins, nothing has been more empowering to see participants go from "I have no idea what I'm doing" to "did you see how fast I went down that hill?" We would love to keep things going and - most importantly - get more students involved! And to do that, we're askin' for a little support...
Bikes - if you've got any youth-sized bikes sitting around, in any condition, we'll fix 'em up so they're trail ready for club-goers!
Bike accessories - helmets, pads, etc.; anything a kiddo might need to ride safely!
Financial donations - want to support future bike club projects? 1) visit https://www.duluthcsc.org/donate, 2) select your amount, 3) comment "Bike Club", and submit!
Nothing is expected, anything is appreciated, and know it's helping keep magic like this rollin'. šŸ˜Ž Please reach out to Nick Heck - out-of-school time coordinator - if you have any questions! [[email protected]/(218)-608-0208]. Until next session, we'll see you on the trails!

We're in the business of making core memories. šŸ˜Ž Plenty of smiling faces and happy times during our summer program at Myers-Wilkins! So far, we've managed to go biking, play pickleball, make pasta, take care of the school garden, practice sewing, and a bajillion other activities in-between...and a gazillion more left to do!

Of course, none of this is possible without some awesome partnerships, so a big shoutout to...

If you were in Duluth this past weekend it was impossible to miss! Grandma’s Marathon held its 50th annual race and we had an awesome team of over 10 runners across the 5k, half and full marathon! A huge shout out to all of our runners who not only put in the training for the course but helped raise over $4,000 for the Duluth Community School Collaborative along the way! Thank you all so much and we are proud of your hard work!

Thank you to Second Harvest Northland for your partnership and highlighting the amazing work being done at Myers-Wilkins Elementary School by our amazing Community Health Coordinator, Sadie Herbst!

"Too often, parents are going without food so their children can eat. We knew we had to find a way to support the whole family."

As a Community Health Coordinator for Myers Wilkins Elementary School in Duluth, Sadie connects with parents who are doing everything they can to provide for their children—but still struggle to put enough food on the table.

Through a partnership with Second Harvest Northland's School Pantry Program, families at Myers Wilkins can access the food they need—not just during the school year, but in the summer months as well.

Because of you, families don't have to face summer alone. Learn more: https://buff.ly/JFfHxta
