Week 6 is coming to a close and what a week it was!

This week was packed with exciting activities, new challenges, and plenty of moments to be proud of. From trying new things to making the most of each day, there was never a dull moment! We kept the energy high, made the most of every opportunity, and had another great week together!

This evening we had a very special guest for dinner! Thank you to Jaffrey Police Officer Robert Fetzner for joining us tonight.

Officer Fetzner was visiting his son and one of Camp Wanocksett’s Senior Dining Services Staff, Mike Fetzner. This is Mike’s last week at camp before going off to basic training for the United States Marine Corps.

Mike, Camp Wanocksett would like to thank you for all you’ve done for camp and all you will do for our country! We know you will make us proud, Semper Fidelis!

On Tuesday, our Counselors-in-Training put the Scout Oath and Law into action by volunteering at the annual Jaffrey Fair, hosted by the First Church in Jaffrey. Each year, our CITs lend a helping hand by setting up for the event, ensuring everything is ready before the community comes together to enjoy the event.

After an afternoon of service, they had the chance to enjoy the fair themselves, exploring local vendors, learning about Jaffrey's history, and connecting with members of the community they had helped support.

Service is a core part of the Scouting experience, and we're proud of our CITs for giving back, demonstrating leadership, and strengthening the bonds between camp and community!

We’re halfway through Week 6, and we’re having the time of our lives here on the shores of Thorndike! Every day has been filled with laughter, new experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime. With two more days still ahead, there’s plenty more fun to enjoy, exciting moments to share, and countless smiles still to come!

Focus, discipline, and plenty of bullseyes made for another unforgettable day on the rifle range. From first time shooters to seasoned marksmen, everyone had the chance to build confidence, sharpen their skills, and have a blast!
