Today on World Bicycle Day, we pause to remember and honor John Farr - our founding president, our friend, and the driving force behind Bike to Build.

John believed deeply in this community and in Habitat’s mission, and he showed that belief in the most John way possible: by getting on his bike and riding hundreds of miles to support families in Clearfield County. Every mile he pedaled turned into hope, stability, and safer homes for neighbors who needed a hand up. His dedication wasn’t just inspiring - it helped build the foundation our affiliate still stands on today.

As we celebrate World Bicycle Day, we’re reminded of how one person’s passion can move an entire community forward. John’s legacy continues to guide us, and we carry his spirit into everything we do.

That’s why we’re especially excited as we look ahead to our annual King of the Mountain Bike Race this October. This event brings riders, families, volunteers, and supporters together in the same spirit John embodied - determination, community, and the belief that every effort makes a difference.

More details are coming soon, but for now, we simply want to honor where this tradition began and look forward to the miles still ahead.
We can’t wait to ride together again this fall.

This year, Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County is celebrating something extraordinary ✨🏠

We’re able to replace THREE metal roofs for local homeowners through our Ugly Roof Rescue program. And this milestone wouldn’t be possible without the incredible partnership of Red Nail Metal Roofing.

Leander Yoder and his team didn’t just bring their expertise. they brought compassion, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to helping us serve more families. By working closely with us to make our budget stretch, they made it possible for Habitat to say yes to three homes that urgently needed safe, durable roofs.

Because of their generosity, three families in our community will head into summer with stability, safety, and peace of mind. This is what is possible when local partners step forward with heart- more neighbors are served, more homes are made safe, and more hope is built right here in Clearfield County.

Building will begin in June, stay tuned for updates and before and after photos as each project gets underway.

🌿 May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

At Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County, we believe that a safe, stable home is more than a structure - it’s a foundation for wellbeing. When families have a place where they can breathe, rest, and feel secure, it supports every part of their health, including mental health.

This month, we honor the strength of the families we serve, the resilience of our volunteers, and the importance of creating spaces where people can feel grounded, supported, and hopeful.

💚 A stable home supports a stable mind.
💚 A caring community makes healing possible.
💚 Hope grows when people have a place to call home.

As we begin Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re grateful for everyone who helps build not just houses - but stability, connection, and brighter futures.
