Sea Scout Ship 16 Confluence We get together to learn the basics of the boats and the rules of the road. But mostly we like to just get out on the water and sail.

This weekend Sea Scout Ship 16 sailed to Old Point Comfort Marina for Sea Scout Academy. On Saturday the Scout were busy learning about boat maintenance. On Sunday they participated in various on the water activities and on Monday our Scouts won the Commodore’s Cup FJ race.

This weekend Sea Scout Ship 16 Confluence had Freedom II, a Contest 31 HT, and Valor, a Grampian 26, underway for a weekend sailing trip on the Elizabeth River. Heavy winds on Saturday kept us out of the Bay, but we still had a great time sailing on the River. We were joined by North Carolina Ship 4019. It was great to have them back aboard for the first time since 2019. Saturday night we spent the night at Tidewater Yacht Marina, and on Sunday continued sailing before the boats returned to their home marinas.
