ADOPTION APPLICATION & GUIDELINES

Thank you for considering adopting a cat from us! Before completing our application, please read our adoption guidelines. ADOPTION GUIDELINES
• Cats/kittens must be housed indoors-only unless otherwise stated.
• Cats/kittens cannot be declawed. Usually we do not mix clawed and declawed cats.
• Cats/kittens cannot be given as gifts, given away, or adopted in someo

ne else’s name.
• A veterinary reference showing good preventative care and routinely current vaccines is required. (If you are a first-time pet owner we will gladly take your family’s veterinary reference.)
• Many of our cats/kittens must go to a home where there will be another age appropriate or friendly cat. Please check cage cards for this and any other restrictions specific to an individual cat.
• Military families must have evidence that they have PCS’d long distances with their pets.
• Children 6 years of age and under must meet with an adoption counselor and the cat/kitten that the family requested to ensure compatibility.
• Renters must have landlord approval.
• Adopters must agree that cats/kittens are a lifelong commitment.

Our adoption package includes:

• Spay or neuter
• Microchip
• Vaccinations
- Kittens receive the entire series of distemper vaccinations and a rabies vaccination
- Adults receive distemper vaccinations as appropriate and have a current rabies vaccination
• Testing for Feline Leukemia and FIV
• F***l screening for intestinal worms and parasites and appropriate treatment whenever necessary
• Flea and ear mite treatment and preventative
• Free bag of food
• Discount coupons for premium clumping cat litter and lots of other goodies
• Free cat flyer, catnip, and toys
• Free behavioral help for the life of the cat

Kitten season is in full swing and we're getting requests every day for stray cats and kittens who need a safe place to land until they are ready for adoption and can find their ways to their forever home. If you've ever thought about fostering please reach out -- if we have more fosters we can help more cats. It's really that simple! :) And it's really rewarding and fun!

We just couldn't resist posting these new pics of adoptable Fergus from his recent vacay in a foster home. He's a sweet adult who loves to be around his people. Fergus can be seen by appointment with an approved application at our Dover PetSmart adoption center.

Mr. Fergus, who is an adoptable handsome man, wishes everyone a good start to the week! He has an outgoing personality and loves to greet our volunteers when they arrive at our adoption center in the Dover PetSmart. Fergus is also a fan of treats and being brushed.

Meet Crema! Crema is an absolute sweetheart who will want to be your best companion! She talks to her foster mom all the time and follows her around everywhere. She sleeps in the bed with her at night too and will sleep on laps too (though the latter is on her terms). She's not shy about reminding mom when it's time for dinner too! Happy Mother’s Day from adoptable Ellie, mother of the kittens we introduced yesterday. She is an absolute sweetheart! And now that she has been spayed and her mothering days are over, she gets to just be the playful young cat she is and play with all the catnip toys!

KITTENS! Brown tabby Ekko and his sisters Ester (bottom left) and Effie (bottom right) are playful sweethearts ... and they're looking for their forever homes! These three aren't quite old enough for their neuter and spays just yet, but they are available on a foster-to-adopt basis if you live within an hour's drive of Dover and are willing to drive them back to Dover for their shots and surgery. If not adopted together, they must go to homes where they will have the companionship of other young and friendly cats. Fun-loving brothers Bruno (tuxedo) and Blaze (orange tabby) are looking for a home with lots of love and comfy, sunny spots to lounge around! These two playful sweethearts are currently living in our adoption center at the Dover PetSmart and can be seen by appointment following approval of an adoption application. If not adopted together, Bruno and Blaze must go to homes where they'll have the companionship of another friendly young cat.
