The last movie that was shown at the Twin Kiss Theater was "Oklahoma" in 1963 and Hannah Ekwall from Dakota News Now was here to capture the first movie at the Doland Opera House in in 63 years!

🎬✨ History came alive at the Doland Opera House yesterday! ✨🎬

For the first time in more than 60 years, a movie was shown inside the historic Doland Opera House. Seeing patrons gather once again in this beloved building was a powerful reminder of the important role the Opera House has played in our community’s past—and the role it can continue to play in its future.

We were thrilled to welcome visitors from across the area who came to experience this special event. The laughter, excitement, and sense of community that filled the building made for a truly unforgettable day.

A heartfelt thank you to the Doland Community Library for hosting this special event and helping bring people together to celebrate the Opera House. We are grateful for their partnership and commitment to creating unique opportunities for our community.

This event would not have been possible without the many volunteers who devoted countless hours to cleaning, repairing, and preparing the Opera House for guests. Your dedication is helping preserve an important piece of Doland’s history.

As we celebrate this milestone, our roof fundraising campaign is in full swing. Replacing and repairing the roof is a critical step in preserving the Opera House for future generations. We are actively seeking donations and funding partners to help make this project a reality.

We are trying to research the last time a movie was shown in the theater, we know it was the early 60's but aren't for sure the date and the movie. Does anyone possibly remember?
